I owe it to my Grandchildren and those who gave for what we have and ready to lose. It is time... and I am prepared.

Is it a hill to die on? You bet. It’s now or never. Time to put our money where our mouth is, we have sat back far too long.

I believe much more would be accomplished if those who plan to go to Richmond would instead learn how to draw up a proper petition and get a large number of signatures from the district in which they live and present the petition to the representative of that district.

If a petition is not possible, get a pledge signed by registered voters pledging to vote the local rep out of office.

The only way to end the attack on the 2Nd Amendment is to get the politicians afraid of getting replaced.

To claim that you’ve ‘faced death without fear’, makes you a liar or a fool.

VCDL is running buses from the Greentop parking lot north of Richmond.
See the VCDL website.

Fool maybe... Would I ever wish it? Of course not, but I have never feared death. Feared for others, but never for myself. I am in good hands and when it is my time it is my time. I completely understand that my good luck will indeed run out at some point. And it is not a matter of if, it is just a matter of when. I’m good with it. :)

Well, you also need good replacements to step up.

Politics have become so nasty and corrupt that decent people generally want nothing to do with running for office.

(I wish some of the people so anxious to walk into this Richmond trap would be courageous enough, and have the long-term stamina and brains, to embark upon the harrowing adventure of actually running for office.)

You are playing small ball with these democRATS in Virginia. They already know that the entire state is against what the governor and legislature are up to in this gun-grab plan.

They have open and public disdain for the patriots who are for their 2nd Amendment rights. This has been planned for some time now, including the big money that poured into the state to turn it blue. All part of their plan.

The legislators are going to do what they are going to do, damn the voters. This is a test case for the Left to confiscate guns.

No amount of phone calls, emails, texts, faxes, etc. at the last minute will change the course of this effort. This type of effort used to work when the politicians weren't aware of their extent of the opposition. This time around, they already know that everybody is against what they are doing in the State. These people are zealots and intent of taking people's legitimate 2nd amendment rights away from them.

No matter what.

Well said.

But even in those cases where no desirable replacement exists, there would be a huge impact on a sitting rep by someone knocking on his door, looking him in the eye and say something like “ Sir, I would like to show you this list of 15,000 registered voters who have pledged to vote against you if you vote for any law that in any way limits their rights as described in the 2Nd Amendment.”

Of course the exact wording should be devised by a constitutional lawyer so as to leave no loopholes.

That same rep would likely, under the present plan to demonstrate in Richmond, look out over the crowd and make some remark about those bible clutching rednecks..they would rather watch the stock car races than figure out how to vote.

Maybe monitoring them might be a good idea.

Bravo sir!
I applaud your commitment to the 2 ND amendment.
Whatever happens, and I predict...nothing big....you’ll be proud you took a stand

I think you are correct. Matt Bracken - a man who is not a 'hothead' - has given all of this deep and informed thought, and convincingly set his thoughts out in a recent article:

'I’d continue to marshal our forces for maximum effect at local county and city council meetings. The 2A sanctuary county movement has been extremely effective at getting positive attention through this means. We should keep attending every local political meeting in force. Make your local politicos feel the heat. Keep pressing at the county and city level. Experiment with holding “unorganized militia” flash mob events. Be imaginative, and always use friendly local terrain to your advantage.

If this does not give the hot heads pause to consider what is going on, they are hopeless and will probably destroy any chance to keep the 2Nd Amendment in its present form.

What the following shows me is that some of the people who are part of the gun control movement know that bad things are going to happen and they are staying home.

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/01/18/beware-virginia-a-remarkable-confluence-of-events/

[…] Because of the threat of possible violence, organizers of an annual vigil for victims of gun violence — usually held on the King holiday each year — said Friday that they have canceled their event this year.

“Given the serious concerns about possible violence on Monday, we recognize that we can not guarantee the safety of the brave gun violence prevention activists and survivors who have fought so hard for this day,” said Lori Haas, state director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. (link)

Suppose that they held a rally, and nobody came? :-)

Love the idea about private property! Then they could provide toilets and drinking water, like a real first world county would! :D

I thought private property would be a good idea because the governors "state of emergency" order for no firearms would have no effect there.
