“Being 97” was directed by Andrew Hasse (http://www.ftrmgc.com). It is part of The Atlantic Selects, an online showcase of short documentaries from independent creators, curated by The Atlantic.
I’ll look at the YouTube later.
Is he still alive? Or maybe you don’t want to give away the ending.

Everyday is a gift. This man had a long life. The Army and cancer could have killed me and I have seen many just get Grim’s call for every reason under the Sun.
The good news is that if you suffer from seizures, they come on so fast that you are here one second and gone the next. There is absolutely no time to contemplate. It's like someone turns off the light switch.

Living is a death trap.
This former UC Berkeley philosophy professor is, evidently, an atheist, who thinks life is pointless, that there is nothing after death, yet he is afraid to die, even at 97.
Sad.
For a philosopher, he appears not to know the most important aspect of his life and being - that God is his hope and salvation. But God appears absent from his life. Not once in this account did he mention his Creator. Why is he not reading and studying the greatest book ever written to derive strength and understanding in his time of need? This documentary was very heartbreaking to observe someone with his intellect, yet so empty and lacking in faith.
His mobility is amazing for a person his age. He needed a pedicure. My mom used to take my dad to the nail salon, where a nice Vietnamese man would do his nails.
Good video.
