That abotu sums it up- Everyone is brave till reality sinks in- till then we think we’re invulnerable, immune to the bad things in life- then we get cancer, or ms, or liver disease, or whatever it might be, and their whole perspective changes as they face death- for most anyways- some remain defiant til l the end- refusing to even consider what lies ahead-

And what lies ahead?

You were born into this life.

Where on Earth has something only happened once?

“That about sums it up- Everyone is brave till reality sinks in- till then we think we’re invulnerable, immune to the bad things in life- then we get cancer, or ms, or liver disease, or whatever it might be, and their whole perspective changes as they face death- for most anyways- some remain defiant til l the end- refusing to even consider what lies ahead-”

That may be true for some, but certainly NOT ALL.

I watched about 20 minutes of the story and it made me sick to my stomach. I finally turned it off when the poor guy said something to the effect, “when you die, it is all over, nothing to feel — you’re just gone.” What a load of crap. Here is a so-called educated man that has spent his life writing books and teaching at the college level and not one single word about the greatest book on the face of the planet that will give him hope — the Bible.
It is pretty obvious he is not a believer in a God that created the universe and all that is in it and who sent us Jesus Christ just to let us know. It blows my mind how anyone who knows anything about science, the human body, and the universe can believe this was not created by an “intelligent designer.” Many of us call that designer God.

Regarding, your perspective changing when you face death. We just disagree. At age 69 (six years ago) I was diagnosed with two life-threatening diseases — cancer and kidney failure. No panic on my end. I had faith that with the help of God and modern medicine I would make it. I also got things between me and God right, just in case. I am not afraid of death — at all. I know and believe it is not the end — but the beginning. Furthermore, that experience lifted a huge load off of my back. I stopped sweating the small stuff and began living every day as though it could be my last. WOW! It was like wiping the slate clean. Don’t get me wrong, I still lead a normal busy life, but I no longer obsess about the small stuff — that in the end does not matter when you breathe your final breath here on this planet.

Finally, what is the big deal about death? Every person who has been alive on this planet has died sooner or later. Every single one. So, it is quite normal. Learn to accept it — not live in fear.
