Since I got the Asian Flu in 1957 I have noticed that one or two layers beneath each new virus story they named China or other Asian place as the origin. Funny.

Asian flu of 1957, also called Asian flu pandemic of 1957, outbreak of influenza that was first identified in February 1957 in East Asia and that subsequently spread to countries worldwide.

Much more important, please remember this story which was on FR, too:
China Has Been Withholding Bird Flu Samples. Here’s Why ...
https://fortune.com/2018/08/28/china-has-been-withholding-bird-flu-samples-for-a-year...

The Chinese government has withheld samples of a virulent strain of avian flu from American researchers for over a year, the New York Times reports. And this strain of flu prevalent in birds, called H7N9, is particularly fatal, killing 40% of people who contract it.

I thought they might be waiting to use it as a biological weapon against us. No defense here for our innocent citizens.
War crime, anyone????

I had the Asiatic Flu (that’s what we called it in NJ) in 1957 - I was 5 or 6 years old and was very sick. I still recall hallucinating that I was falling out of bed— they said I was delirious. Doctors made house calls in those days. My father brought me lollipops with Comedy and Tragedy faces, and an orange-colored portable television so I could watch tv in bed, all 5 channels. I’d watch the same Million Dollar Movie all day long.
