EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. Eli Manning is ready to write the final chapter of his historic career.
One of the best, most popular and most decorated players in Giants history, Manning, a two-time Super Bowl winner and most valuable player, will announce his retirement Friday, ending a 16-year career spent entirely with the team he joined in a draft-day trade in 2004.

Tom Brady, please pick up on the white courtesy phone!......................
I'll never forget how Manning completely dismantled my Packers in 10 below weather in the NFC Championship game back in Jan 2007 (or 2008). Also the only QB aside from Foles to beat Brady in the SB, and he did it twice.
Great QB but I don't know if he'll get the HoF nod.
Yeah, he will, no problem.................
I agree.
HOF for sure with two SB wins ...
That is your cue Brady.
Wow, it is hard to believe it was 16 years ago that the young buck showed up on the scene!
Another Jets fan?
Fellow sufferer :)
This Bills fan says a hearty "Amen!"
Definitely will be in the HOF, however he should have retired years ago. He lost his confidence and thereby his edge somewhere along the line. Never got it back. (It wasn’t always the offensive line, as some will say)
He had a good long run but its time now. He could be the Giants backup QB but he doesnt want that and so be it. Mannings are class acts and Eli exits with that and multiple millions too.
It could be worse. You could be a Cleveland Browns fan.
I am a Chiefs fan and I keep waiting for someone to wake me from this most excellent dream.
He could still throw the ball, but the west coast throw the ball two yards was not his style.
“...will announce his retirement Friday, ending a 16-year career spent entirely with the team he joined in a draft-day trade in 2004.”
Nothing but CLASS - to stick with one team, regardless of what I think of that team.
No. I got you beat. 63 years old Lions fan. (I’ve checked. I’d been alive for 2-3 weeks the year they last won a championship.)
Phillip Rivers came into the NFL the same year as Eli Manning. Rivers packed up his family and moved them from California to Florida as soon as the season ended. He is available and he can still play. Everything about the Chargers sucks...especially the ownership. I love Rivers and would like to see him play for the Raiders.
Will never forget his throw to Tyree in the Super Bowl
