No. But we developed the China Bat/Sars Virus. It was allowed because it started before the moratorium kicked in.

So could have Russia. Or it could have been stolen.

Then unleashed on China.

But more likely it is accidental if it is from the bioweapons lab.

Patient 0 had no contact with the market as per a Chinese newspaper.

"So, are you saying I should stop eating bats? How about I just try to cut down?"

Nah, just serve more on the well-done side and ixnay on the bat sushi (raw---unless maybe frying in tempura batter first).

I’ve heard Wuhan Corona Virus (2019-nCoV)

Also....are you an admin mod?

A two week incubation period is very dangerous and allowing house quarantines is a reckless option .

It certainly is reckless since the individual quarantined can go out into the public, and the people in the house that can get infected, go to work, shopping, and off to school. -tom

Daily live threads - great Idea. Here’s my contribution:

Coronavirus hard to control - studies

... to be able to contain the epidemic and turn the tide of infections, control measures would have to halt transmission in at least 60 per cent of cases.

... Ferguson's team suggest as many as 4,000 people in Wuhan were already infected by January 18 and that on average each case was infecting two or three others.

"Should the epidemic continue unabated in Wuhan, we predict (it) will be substantially larger by February 4," the scientists wrote.

They estimated that the central Chinese city of Wuhan where the outbreak began in December will alone have around 190,000 cases of infection by Feburay 4., and that "infection will be established in other Chinese cities, and importations to other countries will be more frequent."
