We did the same thing (evacuate diplomats) when the Liberian ebola outbreak happened.
Third world countries (like China) lack routine health care services necessary to treat people who have serious illnesses.
It's not a question of infection, it's all about treatment.
Pretty much the only people who die from pneumonia in the U.S. are old people, otherwise compromised folks, and guys with AIDS.
