CVS is now owned by Aetna.
My Part D is Anthem/Blue Cross and only honors 3 area pharmacies, CVS, Walmart, and Sam’s Club. But I figure it’ll save me maybe $500/year, so as much as I liked the old place, I didn’t like them $500 worth.
They’ll keep the pharmacies in grocery stores in rural areas. Many people don’t want or can’t get out of the car to walk in. They need more drive thru windows.
“Back in the day”
The cows refused to let milk be brought to our neighborhood. So every morning, before school, we had to go down in the sewer and milk the rats.
I used to get my milk in containers made from recycled papyrus scrolls.
Back in the day, I took in nutrients from an umbilicus.
Too far back?

In Colorado, the Kroger stores are called King Soopers and the store pharmacy is busy with customers. I used Good RX at one such store to get a shingles vaccine. I will be going back to that store(Kroger-King Soopers) to get part 2 of the two part series. King Soopers Pharmacies are a big deal in Colorado.
I got my shingrax vaccines last spring. I don’t ever see their business going down. Yay on the shingrax!
We always sent the butler or the chauffeur out for milk. Occasionally the maid would go.
Had my Shingrix shots in Aug and Nov of 2018. Felt rotten with chills, aches and malaise for about 24 hrs.
Glad they’re over!
Back in the day... I helped Grandpa pour the milk into a vat so them city folk could have milk... then I I shoved out the milk stalls.
We got our 'pone from the sweat on the brow of the dying slaves, mixed with the jam scraped from under the nails of their gnarled, twisted toes.
Oh we had such times!
Blame Obamacare.
Back in the early 80s the little town we moved to had a classical “Drug Store” which was mainly a pharmacy and a small section of toiletries and sundries. It also had a “Toy Department” which was a shelf about 12 ft long. Our oldest loved to peruse the toys there when we went in for a prescription.
It got wiped out by Walgreens, Longs, and CVS and got turned into an upscale and expensive little bakery. I miss those simpler days.
That is hot!
North Dakota requires all pharmacies to be at least 51% owner by a registered pharmacist. Small independent drug stores thrive, even in smaller towns, and while there are CVS and Walgreen stores, they can’t fill your prescription.
I guess none of the chains were willing to give an independent majority ownership :-)
Was it a pretty significant savings (with the GoodRX)?
Me too! So glad I got them too.
