A flight carrying U.S. diplomats, family members and other Americans out of Wuhan, China, as a potentially deadly form of coronavirus continues to spread is expected to land at Ontario International Airport Wednesday.
About 240 U.S. citizens, including nine children, will be screened for symptoms of the Wuhan coronavirus before boarding the plane in China, according to a statement from David Wert, a public information officer for San Bernardino County.
The flight, chartered by the U.S. government, is expected to leave Tuesday night before stopping in Anchorage, Alaska, to refuel. Passengers will again be screened before the plane continues on to Southern California.
“No occupants who present symptoms of illness will be allowed to proceed into the continental United States,” Wert said in the statement.

“are” or “could be” per the article? I read it that any passengers showing symptoms “could be” quarantined. Agree with you, subject to interpretation.
Guess we’ll find out.
No symptoms today but what about in two weeks or longer? Just in time for them to disperse to a neighborhood near you.
Rats, cant find the thread but there was an interview with some official connected with Ontario CA airport last night. Incould have sworn he said all would be quarantined. My concern was that he said 3-14 days. 14 ok, 3, not so much. Cant find it now.

Nothing to worry about, folks. We all know that government employees are far too smart to allow themselves to become infected.
Here is a video from the Ontario, CA airport commissioner on how they plan to quarantine the passengers. It’s worth a watch. They are doing a lot of things right. However, he said 3-14 day quarantine, I suggest everyone contact him and urge them to do at least 14 days, all passengers, without exception.

The state dept. is smart dropping them off in the middle of the most populated area of the US - not.
On second thought, it is near Hollyweirdo. If a celeb gets sick, maybe, just maybe, it’ll wake them up about letting who knows what inside our borders. Naw, that’ll never happen.
He says the quarantine area is in an hanger near the airport, with beds, Tv,etc. he also said the passengers will not be taken through the airport, it’s a chartered plane that will go straight to the quarantine hanger.
I’m less worried about this group that all the thousands of other Asian flights with inadequate screening.
KEEP THEM ON THE PLANE FOR THE ENTIRE QUARANTINE PERIOD.
They are going to be screened in China for a disease that can be asymptomatic for as long as 2 weeks. They are NOT going to be held for two weeks in quarantine when they land.
This is a BIG mistake. We are talking about a disease that MAY have been weaponized by the Chinese government - and how else can you interpret the actions of the Chinese government as anything other than sheer panic? No one quarantines 50 million people over a very wide area with their army unless they are deathly afraid of the disease that they have? And we are so f’ing stupid as to not quarantine a couple hundred people? We should fly them to Midway and keep them there - comfortably, with internet access, plenty of food, water, movies and medical supplies with trained people...but they should be quarantined.

We’ll see about 2 weeks after they arrive if any of them have it...and, if so, then the panic will begin. This disease is apparently only about 5% as lethal as Ebola, but about 10 times more communicable (and, as a bonus, can be passed to others for as long as two weeks before Patient Zero presents any detectable symptoms).
We are so f’ing stupid that it beggars the imagination.
This isn’t stupidity.
It’s deliberate evil. For political gain.
Probably because the greatest threat to them in Wuhan is public disorder. Much more so than any virus.
