Yep, +67 after hours!! (+14% for the day!)
Elon is firing on all cylinders!
We would all buy more new cars if the feds gave us $7500 towards the purchase.
Market value greater than Ford & GM combined, STILL without a profitable year.
Insanity.
Takes guts to post this here, since the FR groupthink is that Musk is an idiot and his company a bankrupt scam.

There's a reason I refer to TSLA as "the Maalox Roller Coaster" -- it's clearly going to open over $600 tomorrow, and while it's already quite late, I plan to get up around 8 am to monitor the premarket trading. If the company stock price was up before, I suspect the earnings beat and profit beat will hit the gas, er, accelerator pedal.
Contrast the performance with General Electric, a large conglomerate, which pays 4 cents a year dividend and sells at a worse multiple now than it did a couple of days ago, before its earnings beat.
BTW, the other news is, Elon's talking about reducing battery cost. Tesla already manufactures in Nevada almost as many as all other battery makers in the world, combined, and has a clear range advantage over EV competition (plus the charging network continues to build out).
Well, that's been quite a day, huh? And while the stock price appears to be bouncing off the ceiling, repeatedly, and Friday is usually a down day, I'm just making sure I've got plenty of stomach remedy around and plan to whiteknuckle my way through tomorrow.
The talk has turned to the possibility that TSLA will, later in 2020, enter the S&P 500 -- which would mean index funds would be buying it, and according to this screen in my acc't, it's already 53.37% held by institutions (mutual funds, retirement funds, ETFs, hedge funds, and of course market-makers).

The stock is now up to $651.
I ran out of Maalox, so I sold it in the past 15 minutes or so, at $928, which is $12 off the interday high. Minutes earlier it was around $921 I think, maybe $920. Holding it since sometime in January has yielded a 50% gain in my portfolio, and I didn't even have the whole thing in that one stock (that would be a bad practice).
Lithium mining getting a boost (lost the URL on that one) thanks to Tesla.
