Back when music was fun.
Seeing a “proto” moon-walk?
I owned one of those, a 1964 fuel injected Corvette Stingray. They were rated 327 CI, 375 hp. It was converted, though, to the production carbureted version at 365 hp. The mechanical fuel injection of that vintage was simply too unreliable to be counted on to run for long. I put 200 k miles on it over a decade with but one engine rebuild. I sold it for $100 less than I paid for it. My current C5 is all the way down to 345 hp, though the rating is under a new hp rating system that puts more power to the road than in the older rating system.
Thanks for the good memories.
When I was a pre-teen, Time magazine printed the words to Shut Down in an article about The Beach Boys. I memorized the words. Now in my late 60s, I can still sing along every time it comes on Pandora. So many words and phrases I didnt understand, that my husband explained to me when I first sang it for him. I miss the innocence of those long ago days.
