How does that stack up against “debunked”? Is that better or worse for Biden? More serious or less serious?

These people just reflexively write that.

Nearly every time the Biden allegations have been mentioned in the MSM (rarely and begrudgingly, btw) the writer or talking head is quick to point out that they’re “unfounded.”

They completely forgot to use that word during the Kavanaugh hearings.

Has anyone on the left ever used the words "unfounded," "debunked," or "conspiracy theory" to describe the claim that the Trump campaign collaborated with Russia in the 2016 election, a claim which was endlessly repeated in the MSM, instigated by Mueller for two years, and proven false?

The answer, of course, is "no," and they even act is though it was proven true, and never complain when people like Schiff continue to talk about it as if it was true.

Sometimes it’s quite deliberate. “Premise smuggling,” I’ve heard it called. They’re accusing Graham of something, and on the way, they slip in the assertion—disguised as a fact—that the accusations against Biden are “unfounded.”

They hope that people will just file that away without noticing or thinking about it in any way, and sometimes people do, which is why premise smuggling works. Some non-zero number of people who read this crap will accept and repeat the notion that the accusations against Biden are “unfounded.” Probably without even noticing that they’ve been gaslighted.

Always gotta keep your antennae out for premise smuggling, because it’s just another type of lying.
