CHICAGO — An aspiring Chicago rapper who posted a video on YouTube of himself throwing thousands of dollars that he inherited from his mother to his “fans” has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for her 2012 murder-for-hire killing.
Qaw’mane Wilson, 30, was sentenced Friday by a Cook County judge who also sentenced the convicted gunman, Eugene Spencer, to 100 years, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

“The word is ‘matricide,’ meaning murder of one’s own mother,” Cook County Judge Stanley Sacks said Friday, as he stared from the bench at Wilson and Spencer. “Whatever he wanted, his mother gave to him. A car. A job. One could say he was spoiled. She gave Qaw’mane life, and it was his choice to take it away from her.”
Records showed that Wilson withdrew nearly $70,000 from his mother’s accounts in the months after her death and spent the money on flashy clothes and to customize the Mustang she had given him to have gull-wing doors added to the vehicle.
Wilson also posted on YouTube a video of himself withdrawing thousands of dollars in cash from a bank and throwing those bills to a crowd of people that he said in the video were “fans” of his rap music. That video was played for the jury that convicted Wilson, who went by the name “Young QC.”

Probably sealed her fate by giving him that name instead of Tom or Jim.
They literally said “aspiring rapper”!!! LOL! Was he turning his life around and going to college, too? If a conservative news outlet were to write that, they would be accused of racist dog-whistling.
Maybe he didn’t like his name...maybe it means “Sue”. I would bet there is more to the story than reported. Either way...the man is an evil moron of highest order....his statement in court would confirm that...and again...where was his father? Ya think drugs and alcoholism has some role here?
I reported for jury duty about 10 years ago.
It was a murder trial. The alledged murder shot his grandfather in the chest after the grandfather told him he couldn’t give him $100 because he didn’t have it. The 3 eye witnesses against him were his grandmother, his mother and his sister. When I was asked by the judge if I could be impartial, I answered “Why would 3 blood relatives including his mother lie?”
I was dismissed from the jury.
Not money. The love of money.
Chicago is loaded with “aspiring rappers”.

Aspiring rapper? I heard tell he was studying to be a rocket surgeon.

I don’t think it gives you much “street cred” as a rapper if you murder your mother for an inheritance.

You spoil your children they won’t be grateful. In this case he is so evil he has no conscience at all. He is a beast.
He didn’t kill his mother because she ‘spoiled’ him. He killed her because (as you stated) he apparently had no conscience and probably no empathy.
“Aspiring rapper” In other words, lost his job at the car wash.
His mother should’ve given him a normal name. Qaw’mane? Is that African American for: ‘I hate America and liberty’?
