ONDCP Releases Data on Poppy Cultivation and Potential Opium Production in Afghanistan

Today the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy released the results of the annual U.S. Government estimate measuring poppy cultivation and potential opium production in Afghanistan.

The U.S. Government estimate of “Afghanistan Poppy Cultivation and Potential Opium Production” found poppy cultivation decreased in 2019 compared to 2018, but potential pure opium production increased.  Poppy cultivation in Afghanistan declined 28 percent, from 221,000 hectares in 2018 to 160,000 hectares in 2019.  Conversely, potential pure opium production increased by 21 percent, from 5,550* metric tons in 2018 to 6,700 metric tons in 2019.  Low opium prices at planting time drove the decline in cultivation.  The rise in potential pure production is a direct result of favorable weather and harvesting conditions.

Afghanistan Poppy/Opium 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019
Hectares under cultivation 115,000 180,000 198,000 213,000 201,000 207,000 329,000 221,000 160,000
Potential pure production (metric tons) 4,400 4,300 5,500 6,300 4,100 5,800 9,140 5,550* 6,700

Continued large-scale Afghan poppy cultivation and opium production further complicates the government of Afghanistan’s ability to maintain the rule of law and promote good governance.

Although heroin originating from Afghanistan is not a driving force of the United States opioid epidemic, drug revenue generated by insurgents prolongs insecurity and fuels corruption.

The consequences of Afghanistan heroin trafficking are felt by the citizens of Afghanistan and countries along worldwide drug trafficking routes.  The United States Government will continue its work to enhance its longstanding partnership with the government of Afghanistan to address this serious problem.

*All calculations for opium production in 2019 and 2018 used province-level yield data where available.  Based on the new data, the opium production numbers for 2018 were updated; the opium production estimate for 2018 had been 5,330 MT.

US/NATO Troops Patrolling Opium Poppy Fields in Afghanistan May 21, 2010 These photos have been released by the Department of Defense and ISAF over the last few years. Some of the photos discuss instances of troops helping with the destruction of poppy fields. Many of the photos do not mention anything related to destruction or removal of poppies. Instead, they describe how troops “patrol” through and around the fields. In one instance, a US soldier even seems to be even helping with cultivation. In a recent report from Geraldo Rivera which aired in late April on Fox News, a USMC Lt. Col. indicated that US forces encourage the Aghans to grow different crops, however, out of fear of losing stability poppy cultivation is tolerated and even supported. In November 2009, the Afghan Minister of Counter Narcotics General Khodaidad Khodaidad stated that the majority of drugs are stockpiled in two provinces controlled by troops from the US, the UK, and Canada. He also said that NATO forces are taxing the production of opium in the regions under their control and that foreign troops are earning money from drug production in Afghanistan. https://publicintelligence.net/usnato-troops-patrolling-opium-poppy-fields-in-afghanistan/ think anything has changed since 2010?Nahhhhh.....

In Afghanistan, opium production is growing like a weed — and nothing, not even billions of dollars of U.S. money, has been able to quell it.

According to the United Nations, the war-torn nation provides 90 percent of the world’s supply of opium poppy, the bright, flowery crop that transforms into one of the most addictive drugs in existence.

And as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sounds the alarm about a worsening heroin epidemic here in the U.S., opium production in Afghanistan shows no signs of slowing down.

“Afghanistan has roughly 500,000 acres, or about 780 square miles, devoted to growing opium poppy. That’s equivalent to more than 400,000 U.S. football fields — including the end zones,” John Sopko, Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, said in a speech in May.

The U.S. has spent $8.4 billion in counternarcotics programs in Afghanistan. But opium output keeps rising: Fifteen years ago, Afghanistan accounted for just 70 percent of global illicit opium production.

Historically accd. to George Webb in a zillion of his videos there has been a well organized ratline of smuggling of everything from guns, weapons, drugs, heroine, human smuggling, body parts from Afghanistan to numerous stops by Air force jets winding up in the Mid West at Offat aFB.
It has been so prevalent its done in plain sight and at first 41 ran it than Hillary no telling if its still in operation or not but lots of product from afghaistan grow ouhouses and paiki houses was shipped all over the place.

George Webb on how “the ratline” works: “It’s just Mena Airport on a global scale”
Posted on June 4, 2017 by Ann Kreilkamp
The “ratline”: the way drugs, money, guns, sex slaves, human organs are moved secretly from one place to another.

“Besides means and motive, I look at modus operandi and meta data.”
“I’m just following the dead bodies. . . Seth Rich is just one of a hundred cases that are going to be solved.”
“This is Iran/Contra, but going east/west, rather than north/south.”
“She controls D.C.”
“The reason you need to go through NATO countries, via C130 traffic, circling from Belgium to Turkey to Afghanistan/Pakistan, back to Turkey, Belgium, then on to D.C., the Office of Naval Intelligence” — is you don’t have to account internationally for what’s going through.

To those who think that Webb’s astonishing version of the world is farfetched, I’m reminded of Robert David Steele, his view of the real reason for those 1000 overseas bases:

To all of this I would add my most recent statement: that the main reason we have 1,000 military bases all over the world is to facilitate CIA smuggling for the elite of gold, cash, drugs, guns, and small children — we need to stop that and close all those overseas bases — and repeat my long-standing statement across many books and other works: 70% or more of the secret intelligence community, and especially the NSA programs for spying on and blackmailing US politicians and judges while also doing mass surveillance on the public, are downright evil and should be shut down by our President, Donald Trump.

Hats off to George Webb, internet opensource intelligence investigator extraordinaire. And as he commented, off the cuff, somewhere near the finale of his 223 day (so far) journey, “Isn’t this fun?”

................
Webb has been on to this stuff for several years and writes about it openly.

Strzok Unmanned Helicopter Ratlines To Iran Will Be Exposed By Lisa Page
Since 2009, a weapons ratline has been running from US major ports on the East Coast to supply ISIS and Hezbollah terror organizations. A group of to top insiders at FBI Counter Intelligence with the possible involvement of Joint Inter Agency Task Forces for East, National Capitol Region, and South have used stealth to hide weapons in stolen cars, diplomatic containers, and unmanned helicopters to finish the deliveries to the key weapons broker – Iran. Politico exposed Operation Cassandra to the world in December of 2017 about a drugs for weapons networks that totaled $200M in trade for just the ports in Virginia.

Over the next few days, the delivery end of the weapons ratline to Iran will be told here, with the key involvement of Former FBI Director Andrew McCabe, FBI Counter Intelligence Chief Peter Strzok, and the Awan Spy Ring in Congress to administrate the weapons trade. For the first installment, here is Peter Strzok involvement with unmanned helicopters in a Joint Special Operations Command Task Force known as Task Force Orange. The US domestic version of this Task Force Orange are known as Joint Inter Agency Task Forces.

Excellent ideas. Problem is the CIA has been a criminal agency for decades and the local farmers would go crazy if anyone destroyed their crops.I don’t see it happening unless potus personally orders it. Even than a year or two later they would be back in business.Too much money in drugs.

Deliver the roundup via aerial drones, aerially refueled and reloaded. Ideally aerially recaptured for periodic maintenance. Trying to keep our human troops as far from that, center of hell, hole as is logistically possible, while maintaining demon suppression. Until some quantum fluctuation grows indigenously into civilization there is nothing positive for us to engage. History suggests that will take multiple generations.

What the hell do you think spawned all those Agent Orange veteran problems!!!!

Domestic political hippies! I did my medical training around the time that concern erupted, spent a lot of it in VAs, saw many with Agent Orange files and never was impressed by any of their physical illness claims. The only proven consequences physically are Dermatological, of which I personally saw none. Plenty of sad mental illness deserving help, but I don’t blame the dioxan for that. So if the demons want to whine about their sky falling I’d say I’d stopping raining our little alleged poison after they they stop sending us their proven big poison as their chief export.

I’m in Iowa. We use megatons of Roundup, have for 50 years. I don’t see any problems from it. Yes, our insane cohort of political leftists have been on display this week. But those sane enough to farm successfully, who got the greatest agricultural exposure to Roundup, caucused a Trump landslide easily. Our lefty insanity came from the same external sources as the shysters and their deluded California juries slandering Roundup. Normal exposure, even extensive normal exposure, is safe. Maybe intentional intravenous or intra-anal exposure isn’t but who’d think of, much less advise, such? Other than their elites.
