FedEx driver spotted picking up, folding fallen American flag

Rick Guerino was on his lunch break at work when he received an alert from his Ring doorbell camera showing a FedEx driver at his home.

But he wasn't expecting a package.

Instead, the driver was captured on video picking up an American flag that had fallen to the ground as the result of windy weather. The driver then folds the flag and places it inside Guerino's front screen door to secure it.

"I didn't know what he was doing at first when he was waving it out and everything," Guerino told News 12 New Jersey. "I was like, 'What are you doing?' I see him bend down and pick up the flag. I didn't even realize my flag pole was even down."

Guerino said he'd like to meet the driver and say thank you.

When my son was fighting in combat in Iraq back in 03 our UPS driver always asked how he was doing and thanked us for his service. That was very comforting. Other people including even some of my family members weren’t so supportive. That’s why I never criticize our soldiers for fighting in any war.

Never. FedEx, a non-union company, has used logic and solid American values in these cases in the past, including stopping a flag burning:

First thought through my head was...”I hope FedEx doesn’t fire him for that.”

Yep. Fred Smith is a former U.S. Marine. The driver may get an award...
