Anyone worthy of being called a “man” would take on the attacker while yelling at his female roomate to be the one to run for help. Even if there’s a big disparity in physical ability, at least one could distract the murderer-to-be for several seconds. Preferably, of course, the defender would be armed or find SOME sort of weapon. If I die in the attempt, that’s ok - it’s part of being a man, and I don’t mean that in a “macho” way. It’s Jesus’ command, actually.
