Two Lamborghinis stolen during an overnight luxury car dealership heist have crashed into each other in Massachusetts, according to police.
Police said one person was arrested at the scene in Malden, less than 30 miles away from where they were reported stolen. Two other people are being sought, police said.
The SUVs were reported stolen in a 3 a.m. break-in at Herb Chambers in Wayland.
"(Police were) notified by the alarm company of a break at this location," Wayland police Lt. Sean Gibbons said. "Responding officers responded to this location, we did observe a break that occurred. Further investigation reveals that weve had two Lamborghini SUVs stolen."
One of the windows of the showroom was shattered, and officers could be seen canvassing the parking lot. A large rock could be seen near the window.
"From what we can gather, they broke in, they were able to obtain some keys from an area, they were able to remove the keys, take the cars that were in the front lot and drive away," Gibbons said.
A Wayland police officer saw three vehicles in area, and was able to stop the non-Lamborghini vehicle. Police said early Tuesday that two people were being detained at the Wayland police station.
One of my officers was able to stop a car that possibly was involved in the break. Two individuals are currently detained at the police station. I cant give you any more until the investigation concluded, said Lt. Sean Gibbons.
Each vehicle has a sticker price of more than $200,000, police said.
They must have been trying to do some Fast and Furious crap.
Serves ‘em right. Lamborghini making SUVs? Why, that’s sacrilege! Just kidding.
Mebbe when ya steal cars you should avoid car accidents with other guy who stole the car.
Just sayin’
Maybe going in completely different directions would decrease your chances of being caught.
“My advice to you is to start drinking heavily”
I drive by the dealership in Wayland just about every day. I’ve never stopped in though...Lamboghinis are a bit out of my league.
I hope thay were ensured...Who the heck steals an SUV?
Just steal one.
What's the point? Lamborghini and SUV???
It happened because Lamborghini owned a Ferrari and he had a run-in with Enzo over something. Apparently Enzo never went to a Dale Carnegie course.
Will the perps be required to pay restitution? No, I’m afraid that’s an old-fashioned concept.
A rowdy, down-on-her-luck soccer Mom?
A few years ago, our Navy Officer Candidate School cohort had a reunion in San Diego and rented a house in Point Loma. We definitely knew this place was out of our league when we saw the Ferrari dealership across the street from the Lamborghini dealership.
Yes. I remember the "dust up" between those two. It made the news back then. I was in my late 20's at the time and interested in both farm machinery and fast cars. lol
Yes. Beautiful. As is the classic Ferrari California.
