News 4 has obtained the chilling sex attack complaint filed against a 25-year-old Rockland County man in November, less than three months before that same man, released from jail, was accused of killing a security guard in a local library when she asked him to turn down his music.
Gaudin Blanchard, of Spring Valley, allegedly entered the rape accuser's room at Nyack Hospital around Nov. 9, held her by her throat and bit her neck. He then allegedly told her, "Shut up and do not scream. Pull down your pants. I do not care about your blood."

Blanchard was arrested. Less than three months later, this past Tuesday, he was at the Finkelstein Library in Spring Valley around 2 p.m. and a 52-year-old security guard, Sandra Wilson, asked him to turn down his music. Blanchard allegedly lunged at her, stabbing her with a large kitchen knife on the third floor before he was held down by other patrons waiting for police.
Wilson died at a hospital. Friends and coworkers told News 4 she had worked security at the library for more than a decade. Amid questions earlier this week about why Wilson was not still imprisoned in the sex attack case, the Rockland County district attorney said that his office will be launching an investigation into what happened.

That first sentence is pretty bad too. It should have been chopped up into two or three separate statements.
Between the writers and the editors, most “news” stories are a mangled mess. I’m fairly convinced that outlets and publishers do not want the muggles (readers) to have any clear understanding of what is going on around them.

Spring Valley, NY WAS a somewhat nice place to live long ago. Now, in spite of some urban renewal, not so much.

IMHO, Spring Valley is the immigrant center for low-cost labor to the sorrounding towns in Rockland County, like Monsey, Nyack, and Ramapo.

“As we try to understand the tragedy that occurred on Tuesday ... the question has arisen as to how [he] could be out of jail after charges for a felony crime had been lodged against him,” Walsh said in a statement. “Rest assured, I will investigate this issue and reveal the findings as soon as possible.”
Walsh is the DA, took office in January. The DA might want to look at the NY State “No Bail” reforms that are functioning as a basic catch and release program for serial criminals.
From here in Virginia, the news reports on its operation seem to indicate that, barring being a raging, foaming-at-the-mouth psychopath in court, the judges are releasing every street criminal, violent and nonviolent, so long as they can pretend he or she can be trusted to show up for their court dates.
Well, as people say, you get what you pay for. In this instance, this is what you get for electing Democrat majorities election after election, decade after decade.
No one is going to feel safe saying “SSSSHHH!” ever again
The person who was murdered was a Security Guard. She was a woman over 50 years old.
IMHO, the Director of the Library bears responsibility for this too.

In a truly civilized country, when this accused murderer was arrested, he would have been swiftly brought to trial, and if convicted, sentenced to death and publicly hanged.

Truly crap writers in news these days... just stupid as well.
My mother was in an assisted living/nursing facility in Monsey around 2000, so I got to see the area quite a bit. Definitely a lot of third world occupants in Spring Valley.
And when I drive south and west from MA, I usually stop at a restaurant on Rte 59. Sometimes I’ll stay at the low budget hotel next to the Thruway.
