Chinese laboratory that first shared coronavirus genome with world ordered to close for ‘rectification’

The Shanghai laboratory where researchers published the world’s first genome sequence of the deadly coronavirus that causes Covid-19 has been shut down.

The laboratory at the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Centre was ordered to close for “rectification” on January 12, a day after Professor Zhang Yongzhen’s team published the genome sequence on open platforms. It closed temporarily the following day.

The laboratory is a Level 3 biosafety facility, the second highest level, and passed an annual inspection by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment on January 5. It also obtained the required credentials to conduct research on the coronavirus on January 24.

It was not clear whether the closure was related to the publishing of the sequencing data before the authorities.

The release of the data helped researchers develop test kits for the virus.

“The centre was not given any specific reasons why the laboratory was closed for rectification. [We have submitted] four reports [asking for permission] to reopen but we have not received any replies,” a source with the centre said, requesting anonymity because of the matter’s sensitivity.

Yet some here think they are being honest about the number infected and dead...

I have come to suspect it was an intentional act of biowarfare intended to look like an accident, because the PRC don’t give a git about sacrificing 200 million Chinese in the attack.

I don’t think there’s here anyone who believes Chinese statistics.

Or sabotage. Or, extreme carelessness, which seems highly improbable, but possible.

I’ve had several FR members cite both the total deaths China is reporting and the number of infections “going down” as reason to not be worried.

I don’t believe them. Nor do I believe Iran.

This was a bioweapon that escaped the lab. Iran was there to get samples of it or had technicians going back and forth.

Likely it originated in the Canadian lab where Chinese research workers were expelled from last year. A Cat-4 biolab.

Chinese didn’t want the sequence out because it confirms origins and they could have made a buck from it selling a vaccine to the rest of the world. Some scientists displayed courage sharing this information with the world and likely punished for doing so.

“Chinese laboratory that first shared coronavirus genome with world ordered to close for ‘rectification’”

yes, this is extremely important because no other lab in the world has the ability to sequence the coronavirus genome ...

The South Korea infections are linked to some church or cult or something like that.

But Iran’s infections have no such connection. I do believe they caught the bioweapon virus through mishandling or something similar.

“Yet some here think they are being honest about the number infected and dead...”

If China is being honest with the numbers. Jennifer Zeng, Eric Feigl-Ding, Steve Bannon (war room), Epoch times and Guo Wengui

We need to create a list of media sources not to trust for future references.

The problem with that thinking is that it hits Han Chinese harder than other groups.

Why would they release something that hits their own population the hardest?

Perhaps they believe they have too many people.

“I do believe they caught the bioweapon virus through mishandling or something similar.”

The main route that is not talked about is the virus is expressed through feces. Now being as Iran is a Muslim country ask your self what they do with their left hand.

Interesting word choice. "rectification" - that's a good thing, right?

Unless it was for Hong Kong, not sure why they’d do that. An update of the one child policy?

Does “Rectification” involve being welded into a 1,000 bed open floor pop-up hospital with no toilets?

I can't help but wonder if a technician did it to spite her abusive boss.
