With the coronavirus outbreak affecting at least 40 countries, many travelers are concerned about what’s being done to contain the virus.
At JFK Airport, jetlagged passengers typically in a rush to clear immigration are now appalled by a lack of screening, especially compared to procedures in the countries they just left.
Emily Ferrara and Blair Haworth just returned from Florence, Italy, where their study abroad program was canceled because of the virus. There are more than 300 cases there, one of the largest outbreaks outside China.
Yet, the students told CBS2’s Christina Fan they weren’t asked a single question about potential symptoms once they landed in New York City.

I’m all for screenings.
But can they identify folks who are in the incubation period and don’t have symptoms yet?
Now the Dems are getting angry that we’re not profiling potential coronavirus carriers? Yet, they don’t want to seal the southern border! All this RAT hypocrisy is giving me a headache!
They should be screening people coming in from Italy, South Korea, and Japan..and I thought no China flights are even coming in?
Governments always wait until it is too late. It looks like they may have already lost control in CA. We will know in a few days.
Flights from China not coming in however a person from China can change flights into the USA from say Spain, UK ect.

He did a HUGE press conference about trailers he was going to use for the homeless the trailers were used during the fire situation!! Our failure to stop flights is not only dangerous to Americans, but contributes to the spread of the pandemic to the rest of the world.
The WHO is a total joke—I am totally opposed to world government but they should be giving recommendations that affect all countries, and discussing the consequences if those recommendations are not followed.
The weakest link in the chain is the way the chain gets broken.
(I am not a “panic” person—we will get through this—but there will be some lessons learned the hard way.)

Screening is sort of a waste of time..in Israel, last Sunday a man flew in from Italy, he was screened, no fever, seemed fine, went home..went to four different locations in Israel, on Thursday he developed a high fever, he has coronavirus..the best thing to do is ban flights from countries who have over 100 cases of this, and only allow American citizens to come home and have them be quarantined til the correct amount of time has passed
