Jimmy Carter says Buttigieg "doesn't know what he's going to do" after South Carolina

Plains, Georgia - Former President Jimmy Carter suggested Pete Buttigieg's campaign is searching for answers after a disappointing fourth-place finish in Saturday's South Carolina primary, the first test of candidates' support in a state with predominantly African-American voters.

Buttigieg and his husband Chasten paid a visit to Carter and former first lady Rosalynn Carter on Sunday morning, joining them for breakfast here in Georgia, which holds its Democratic primary on March 24.

Carter told reporters at Buffalo Cafe in Plains that he is fond of Buttigieg, mentioning their work on a Habitat for Humanity project in South Bend, Indiana, where Buttigieg was mayor. But the 39th president, who has not endorsed a candidate, also weighed in on Buttigieg's path forward after South Carolina.

I would bet he was hoping or Carters endorsement but how could Carter do it? What would he tell his Sunday school class? When he didn’t get an endorsement he probably knew it would be better to get out.

Carter may have been stupid enough to pick a fight with a rabbit, but he wasn't stupid enough to endorse Mayor Pete, and it wasn't because of Christian principles. He would have found a homily to give himself cover. There was no way Buttigieg was going to win. No. Way. Nada. wasn't. happening.

One rule of politics is you never endorse someone who doesn't have a chance at winning. Not sure Carter's endorsement would mean anything to anyone who could be persuaded to vote for that empty suit. Buttigieg needed to get the youngsters to vote for him. If you're under 40, Jimmy Carter left office before you were born.

I think being gay was helping him. Think about this: no mayor of New York or Los Angeles did as well as he has running for president. (Giuliani dropped our 1/31/2008). You might be able to imagine a mayor of NY or LA becoming president, but a mayor of a town that's not even in the top 300 in the U.S.? Does anyone the mayor of a town that size eve think they can run for president. Pete Buttigieg did BETTER than Giuliani running for President. That tells me that him being gay was a net positive.

Buchanan most assuredly was. He was involved with AL Sen. (and future VP) William Rufus De Vane King. And we already know about Zero.

Buchanan most certainly wasn't. The same people who say Buchanan was gay say Lincoln and many other presidents were gay. I guess you believe everyone who ever did anything great was gay?

Buchanan was in love with a woman, and was engaged to her, but they put off the engagement, then she died. And he most assuredly was in love with her, from is letters. He also had an affair with his boss' wife (That boss was President James Polk)

And you are judging the same-sex friendship standards of today. His friendship with King was not unusual for that time.

You think every man who isn't married by 40 is gay?

"Buchanan most certainly wasn't. The same people who say Buchanan was gay say Lincoln and many other presidents were gay. I guess you believe everyone who ever did anything great was gay?"

Nope, but Buchanan was.

"Buchanan was in love with a woman, and was engaged to her, but they put off the engagement, then she died. And he most assuredly was in love with her, from is letters. He also had an affair with his boss' wife (That boss was President James Polk)"

He was also boinking Sen. King, whom he lived with.

"And you are judging the same-sex friendship standards of today. His friendship with King was not unusual for that time."

So you're implying that Sodomy was rampant then ?

"You think every man who isn't married by 40 is gay?"

Well, then that would make me a fag. I don't care for stool-pushing. You also implied that Zero wasn't gay, either. Care to defend that stance ?
