I dug on Aubrey McClendon in 2018. He was someone my daughter knew and respected in business. This has been my only real dig contribution but I remembered that when he was killed, daughter had called me tearful and sworn, "Mama, Aubrey would not have done this to himself, that's not who he was." His death was pre-Q but I started digging when we began looking into suicides.
Forgive me, my computer with info died so going on memory and pecking on phone instead of typing.
Many said he was depressed/suicide. Business was messed up, he had a crooked federal charge against him, but his partner who was buddied up with Rats was not charged.
McClendon was all about natural gas promotion. He had begun looking into investing in Arkansas NG. Ran up against rights owned by Clinton cronies. There were some legal battles with McClendon pitted against the Clinton machine in AR.
Basically, COD - Arkancide IMO
When I dug, I had dtr help with some of the petroleum industry stuff I didn't know. As soon as she saw the goings-on in AR, her questions about his death were settled. She says in her years as petroleum land manager you just didn't "go there." I posted a good, articulate, summation of this is a thread a very long time ago but reminders never hurt. Aubrey McClendon died in a car wreck, wrapped his car around a bridge abuttment. He drove that road regularly. He liked to drive fast, yes. Many of us love a fast car. These roads we drive regularly are not where we lose control. McClendon wasn't suicidal. But he was trying to grow his business into the Clinton Crime Syndicate territory.
