President Trump welcomed Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez to the White House earlier today. Before taking questions in the Oval Office, the President gave an update on the federal government’s Coronavirus response.

“Our country is doing very well. Our professionals are doing, really, an incredible job,” the President said. “We’re also working with other countries to help them because they really have a fear of the unknown.”
The President also met this afternoon with pharmaceutical companies that are actively working to develop the COVID-19 vaccine, discussing how the federal government can help accelerate vaccine development.
Vice President Mike Pence, who President Trump tapped to lead the Administration’s Coronavirus response, met with a number of America’s governors today to give an update on the White House Coronavirus Task Force. “We’ll continue to coordinate closely with state & local leaders as we respond,” he wrote after the meeting.
The Administration is continuing to emphasize both quick action and transparency in its work to protect Americans’ health and safety.
“The President’s early and decisive actions, including travel restrictions, have succeeded in buying us incredibly valuable time,” Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said last week. “This has helped us contain the spread of the virus, handle the cases that we have, and prepare for the possibility that we will need to mitigate broader spread of infections within the United States.”

Warmer weather slowed and stopped the other coronaviruses. We’ll see what happens with this one. My guess is that it will start going away next month if not sooner.
Some good news. Traffic picked up quite a bit in at least some big stores that sell food, paper and toiletries today. That might spur transportation and restocking and slow down the spread of the disease during the weeks to come.

The liberals told us the Trump administration actions have been too little too late, and that Mike Pence is inept, and opposed needle exchange as indiana governor to fight HIV, thus, only good Democrats will keep us safe from Corona virus

Here is what is driving me crazy. Political correctness will definitely kill people. For example, we should be told if those sick or dead are from predominantly Asian-American communities.. What were their pre-existing medical conditions. Another thing that is of concern, when an infected person says they were not around anyone who traveled from suspicious countries, that is provable, of course. But what if they were exposed by a person in the country illegally and do not want to out that person.
Quarantine the Democrats in Congress. They probably have it.
Barack Obama didn’t call a state of emergency until 1000 Americans were dead in 2009. I don’t remember the media doing anything other than praising him.

I am sure they are. But here is another thing and I might get blasted but it is worrisome. The Asian community is extremely close and have pretty much self segregated, they visit their families in Asian countries regularly and their families come here to visit them. I USED to go to a nail salon that had at least twenty-five Asian manicurists, one of the gals I talked to quite a bit, and she was continually going to South Korea to visit her parents and her relatives came here also. Another thing, her family sent her clothing, accessories etc. all the time because of the much lower costs. I remember her mentioning that just about all the Asian Americans living here did this. I will not go back to this facility.
Trump has imposed travel bans. That was huge

This list of the folks in Washington state mentioned a 40 something person who worked at the care center.
I meant where they come from. Extraordinary number are Philippine nationals brought over to work
I haven’t seen anything to indicate one demographic is more susceptible - if it make you feel good, you can let it out that way more Chinese have been infected than any other....
