A customer at an Olive Garden restaurant in Indiana on Saturday loudly demanded a server who is not black, an employee and an observer said. A manager acquiesced, and is no longer employed by the company.
Amira Donahue, a hostess at the restaurant in Evansville in southwestern Indiana, said the customer, a white woman, complained to a manager about her and the other black hostess working during Saturday's dinner rush.
"She made comments about me to my co-workers concerning my race and saying that I should work at a strip club instead," Donahue told NBC News on Wednesday. "She asked if I'm even black and if I am from here."
Donahue, 16, said the customer who was with a handful of other people, including two children was seated at a table that had a black server, at which point she became particularly irate.
The customer then screamed her demand for a nonblack server to a manager, who complied, Donahue said.

“it wasnt like he did something crazy like demand real Italian food.”
I brought a ‘Doggie Bag’ home from O/G and could not eat it. Gave it to my dog and he threw up. What does that tell you?
With all the fake news lately, consider the source.
20/20 does a show where they set up these kinds of scenarios to see how people react, maybe John Quinones fell asleep.
Yep. A restaurant is never a good place to proudly wear your MAGA hat. If they will spit on a policeman’s meal, I shudder to think what they might do to a lowly citizen now wearing a gun.
Wait, that was 160 years ago. Yes, something major stinks, here. I don't doubt that there are stupid white women. I was at Costco, yesterday, watching the flocks of sheep panic buying TP. But a manager, too?
Sounds like a set-up Fake News story.
In a week , a harder to find story will appear, saying it was all a set- up or completely made up.
I can see that but without interviewing the customer you can't determine their motive.
This is essentially a 'hit-and-run'. The customer who committed the 'hit-and-run' fled the scene without being interviewed.
A proper investigation would include questioning all involved.
THe correct response is “We will not be able to serve you tonight, you may leave now.”
I never saw that before . . . and I hope to never see that again. I pledge to be nice to my servers!
Coincidence?

NBC = NBS SINCE COMCAST TAKEOVER.
BTW, people ARE LIKE THIS. This is not something that isn’t happening every day, not just with minorities, but women, men, whatever.
I was in a Red Robin a few days ago, and some guy at a window table starts shouting across the restaurant about needing his server back. And then offensive things about her looks, and then that he would like a guy who knows what he is doing to come over.
And yes, the restaurant sent a guy over to finish up the customer, as if this was acceptable behavior. The girl I was with in the meantime looked right at the guy and said “That was just f*cking rude”.
I was happy that he didn’t decide to come beat me up. But he was rude, and deserved it.
My mother’s whole family is from southern Indiana. When you get out of the big city its mighty whitey even 25 miles outside Indianapolis where my cousins live. But this does sound a little extreme.
Fake News. Now for the real story.......
This fits NBCs agenda so the story ran. If I were the manager, the customer would have been thrown out
What I dont understand is that any employer would back the manager up 100%. The customer is NOT always right, and you dont need all potential customers.
Indiana had a Klan Governor at one time.
I’d have told the lady to leave. Maybe even volunteered to drive her back to the bar she apparently just left.
Her request was against company policy as well as the law and rude. .
The KKK was started in Indiana.
