A Florida woman stepped forward to claim a Powerball jackpot from January worth $369.9 million, Florida Lottery officials announced Tuesday in a news release.
She will know how to get the most out of her money, too. According to Sheryll Goederts profile on LinkedIn, she is an accountant with offices in Ocala and Dunnellon.
Goedert chose to receive the winning amount in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $276,558,034.09, according to the Florida Lottery. Thats before taxes.
The winning ticket was a Quick Pick, purchased at a 7-Eleven store in Bonita Springs. The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket, the Florida Lottery said.
Goedert, 61, of Ocala, who Florida Lottery officials said is the managing member of Vacation Life LLC, claimed the winning ticket from the Jan. 29 drawing.

That’s a lot of Florida headlines coming.
She’s 61?!
She must have had a facelift after realizing she had won.
I’ve always had a deep and abiding love for her
$276,558,034.09! I’m 61. I’d certainly retire but I’d allocate $5,000,000 per year for living expenses.
Don’t talk about the future Mrs. K that way!
My destiny!!
There was an engaged couple in Wisconsin that won one of those Powerball super-jackpots. They the ticket to a bank along with proof they had the winning ticket, took out a loan, got married in a private ceremony, had the coolest honeymoon - ever - and then came home to claim their jackpot. They did not want their winnings to be known until they had already had their wedding and honeymoon as unknown lovebirds.
Were it I, I would immediately get a P.O. Box, change all my phone numbers, hire an accountant and possibly an investment counselor, refuse the lottery commission’s request to have my picture taken and try to live as anonymously as possible. I’d also set up a charitable trust as a way to deflect some of the tax hit.
She’ll be very popular at the pirate-themed bar
Lots of stock market deals to be had right now
She doesn’t have the tell tale signs. Like the oriental eyes or the “i just got done sucking on a lemon” look.
I’ve never bought a ticket cause the lottery is a tax on stupid people, but if there were ever a time, I’d hire a lawyer and financial advisor. All financial decisions and donations to all those long lost cousins would go directly through him.
Organizations that I currently support financially would receive a substantial gift.
I once told someone that I would not overly support my church. That would remove the responsibility of the rest of the congregation before God to support their local church.
I think your average business profile photo isn’t any more current than your average online dating photo!
$276,558,034.
Hah. After taxes, she’ll be lucky to net $175,000,000.
Not sure how she’ll survive on that.
I’d tell her to buy tax free bonds but they are so expensive right now. Good time to be in cash while the market is in downturn.
What she lacks in looks she would make up for in 369.9 million other ways. :)
That MUST be the case. I’m a Realtor and most of the older women I know use photos from 20 years ago. Some include shoulder pads and other outdated clothing, hairdos and make up.
If she bought 175m worth of tax free bonds today on the long end, (3s of 2050 @ par) she’d make $5,250,000 in income every year, TAX FREE and still have 175m after they mature for her kids or Lazamataz.
I think she’s an attractive woman even before the millions.
