Dr. Francis Boyle, who wrote our national pandemic legislation, I believe brought this to the fore. On Infowars interviews and probably a few other interviews as well.
IIRC there was an article here not long ago that the genome of this virus wasn’t new. It was identical to a specimen from a case in IIRC 2014 in Dubai. It became a “research virus” at that point, again IIRC and had been kept at Canada’s BioLab and someone gave permission to share that with Wuhan. If I understand what I read and what I read wasn’t BS there it is.

There is also the lead I believe to the Chinese woman arrested at the Canadian lab, though the link inconclusive. Similarly, there are those (e.g., Truthbits.blog has it in kind of a tangled mess) who point to the Brits’ Pirbright Institute getting an expedited coronvirus patent from Serco, the Brit firm that inexplicably runs the US patent system. They also interviewed Boyle and refer to his work pointing to the UNC Chapel Hill lab.
Correct but covid-19 has has elements sequenced in that bind to DNA.

IIRC the NIH/CDC and DoD have also provided funding to both the American and Chinese labs. The CDC as well has a hybrid public/private foundation component to it and is in deep with pharma all around. (Look also at the sleezy Azar, former CEO of Eli Lilly as the Sec. of HHS!)
So Fauci and the gang have a vested interest in not exploring the obvious roots and letting the implication be that it came from the wild in China. Since Sen. Cotton originally raised the alarm, all of DC and the admin have been silent on the apparent, obvious bioweapon origins.

Z.-L.S. is Zhengli-Li Shi from the Wuhan Insitute of Virology, who discovered that SARS originated from bats in 2005 and was on the Chinese team that isolated the novel coronavirus as cause of the outbreak in 2020.

No, I don’t think it proves that, but it does prove that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was experimenting with creating new forms of bat coronaviruses, and speculating on what changes would be necessary for them to cause an epidemic in humans, ostensibly for “academic purposes”.
Ok, checking myself: how far outside of reality is the above statement? I don't want to sound like a loon. At the same time, I want to know the truth.

And that's why I really appreciate threads like this on FR. People who are far more intelligent on topics like this are found here and I very much appreciate reading their posts.
This is what FR used to be "back in the day" and I long for those days.
I dunno, it’s a fine line between “creating a bioweapon” and
“academic research” to study how viruses could become more infectious in humans, I guess.
By that, I mean it’s entirely possible they could not have been intending to “create a bioweapon”, but created something that could serve as one anyway, and then it got out.
Keep in mind this academic pub is from 2015, more than 4 years ago. Since then there are reports of patents and weaponization.
My bets are placed on the virus remaining in that lab for continuing research and the security was not sufficient for a weaponized virus.

Whether or not they intended to create a bio-weapon, the facts point to the following:
1. Covid-19 was created in a bio-lab in China;
2. It "got out" of the bio-lab;
3. It made the jump to human beings;
4. Scientists have known this since sometime in 2019;
5. The Communist Chinese Government has a vested interest in covering this all up.
