ALICE COOPER Postpones Spring 2020 North American Leg Of 'Ol' Black Eyes Is Back' Tour

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper has postponed the spring 2020 North American leg of his "Ol' Black Eyes Is Back" tour, which was slated to run from March 31 through April 22. The trek is being rescheduled for this fall and the itinerary will be announced as soon as possible.

A Cooper representative said in a statement: "Due to the current concerns regarding COVID-19, the health and safety of our fans, local venue staffs, as well as the health and safety of our band and crew, is of utmost priority. Information regarding previously purchased tickets and VIP packages will be available soon at AliceCooper.com. It is recommended that those who have tickets should retain them, as they may be valid for the re-scheduled shows.

"Let's get through this together and resume rocking later in the year."

Alice spoke to the New Zealand radio station Bayrock about his all-new "Ol' Black Eyes Is Back" show, which is now scheduled to resume in late May.

...

"I always tell my band one thing. I said, 'I can guarantee you three things: you're gonna get paid, you're gonna see the world, you're gonna get stitches,'" he said. "Everybody in the band has had stitches at some point. Because the swords I use on stage are not rubber. In fact, the one sword that I use on stage actually belonged to Errol Flynn. I kind of wield this… Every once in a while, if you get too close, you might get hit on the arm or the leg or someplace… It's a matter of pride. 'Did you get your stitches yet?' 'Yes, I did.' It's like your mark."

Ok, having ridiculed Pearl Jam for their postponement I feel like it's odd to give Alice a pass. However, what I disliked about Pearl Jam was their pot shot at the Admin...Alice gave his reason and moved on.

But then, Alice is a professional.

Darn! I was waiting to hear him sing “I Love the Dead”. It would have been one of those ballad-type songs that boyfriends and girlfriend hug and sway together in the crowd.

Probably shoulda put an ‘s’ after “girlfriend” but maybe it’s more appropriate to the times that I didn’t...

I've posted this a few times but I think it's worth repeating.

I finally got to see Alice when he opened for Iron Maiden a few years ago at Jones Beach. To be fair, it was the second or third show of Maiden's Seventh Son retrospective tour so they were still working out the bugs, but they were not in top form (I've seen Maiden a few other times...they are awesome live when they are on top of their game).

But Alice...WOW. I can't say that he blew Maiden off the stage, but man o manischewitz it was close. Alice's show was a SPECTACULAR entertainment event. The band was white-hot and tight, Alice was in great form and the stage show was a sight to be seen. They were the better band that day.

Doesn’t matter much to me, but “’Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back’ Tour” is a pretty funny name.

In their prime (I first saw AC in 1972) they were the best live R&R performance out there.

And I’m referring to their kick-ass sound, not the stage antics.

These cancellations of “bread-and-circus” events are particularly devastating to areas like the NYC metro area/northeastern NJ, where this crap has replaced much of the real economy. Casinos, sporting events, the Meadowlands “mall” which is actually an entertainment venue - all are screwed, and either closed or due to close.

**A professional and a man who loves The Lord.**

If he truly has been converted, the ways of the Lord change the convert: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.” 2 Cor. 5:17

When God changes a person’s soul, the person looks at the world as God does. When God converted my wife and I, we soon felt out of place at the bars, discos, and night clubs. We pitched the rock and country albums. There was just very little on them that we could relate to in our new life.

Yeah, there is an occassional secular song that is about goodness and honesty; and true love between a man and a woman the way that God intends; but they are rare. (Barry White’s, “My Everything”, comes to mind).

I’ve tried serving two masters; it’s a delusion. It simply isn’t possible.
