Oxivir tb Wipes & EPA List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2
Environmental Protection Agency ^ | March 13, 2020 | EPA

Posted on 03/18/2020 1:39:25 PM PDT by ProtectOurFreedom

List N includes products that meet EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.

When purchasing a product, check if its EPA registration number is included on this list. If it is, you have a match and the product can be used against SARS-CoV-2. You can find this number on the product label – just look for the EPA Reg. No. These products may be marketed and sold under different brand names, but if they have the same EPA registration number, they are the same product.

Frequently Asked Questions about List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2

Note: Inclusion on this list does not constitute an endorsement by EPA. There may be additional disinfectants that meet the criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2. EPA will update this list with additional products as needed.

I'm sure most FReepers have seen "List N" before. Every product on the list "meets EPA's criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19."

I found this site a couple weeks ago: "What Kills It?: What Kills Coronavirus

It says...

A better choice for killing a life-threatening, emerging strain of Human Coronavirus like Covid-19, is to use EPA registered products that became registered to kill the deadly Human Coronaviruses: SARS in 2002 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MERS in 2012 (Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome).

A product that is capable of killing the deadly SARS will say both:
* Kills Human Coronavirus
* Kills SARS Related Coronavirus

If it is capable of killing MERS, is should read:
* Kills Human Coronavirus
* Kills MERS Related Coronavirus

Finding any of the products on the EPA list in local stores has been impossible as ALL disinfectants and disinfecting wipes are all sold out.

I've been searching online for products, but have struck out at most places. There appear to be LOTS of problems with bad product being sold on Amazon, so I stay away from there.

I noticed that Staples has been getting Diversey products in occasionally. Late last week I placed an order on the Staples site for the Diversey "Oxivir tb" wipes. They were delivered yesterday and the product looks real good. These are larger wipes, 11" x 12" so easier to use, and seem to be slightly thicker and stronger than consumer wipes. I had to buy the large commercial-size replacement rolls (which come in a heavy duty polyethylene bag) as the . wipes in dispensers were sold out. It is easy to cut the top of the bag off and close it up with a large chip-bag clip. These come in a cardboard carton of four of these big 160-sheet rolls, so I have 640 individual wipes which I think should last 2 to 4 months.

I paid $165 for four rolls plus $15 shipping which is 28¢ per wipe. That is about 4X the per-wipe price for Lysol disinfecting wipes, but I cannot find any consumer wipes anywhere.

I talked to Diversey tech support today and they confirmed these are the correct wipes to buy. The woman recommended a one minute "dwell time" (i.e., wet contact time) which is consistent with List N.

Does it matter when Walmart is sold out of every single one of them?

Can’t find 70% here in the Bay Area. No aloe to mix it with, either. All sold out.

Keep going to Staples for the Diversey Oxivir tb. It pops up as in-stock now and then. I placed my order about a week ago and it arrived yesterday. Keep checking.

Interestingly, I got an email yesterday morning saying “Shipment delayed” and an empty expected new shipment date. Then UPS delivered it to my porch a couple hours later!

Thanks.

At the beginning of last week, I checked and they were in stock. It was late at night and I didn’t want to set up a new account, so I went to bed thinking I’d buy the next morning. Big mistake! All sold out the next morning. I set up my account with payment information and kept checking, then clicked “Buy” as soon as they became available.

They are having some troubles with their inventory system. A product on the products list page will NOT say “out of stock” so you put it in your cart. But, at checkout, it says “sold out.” Watch for that and be prepared for disappointment.

Checking regularly worked for me. Good luck!
