Here’s The Food People Refuse To Buy Even During A Pandemic
Daily Caller ^ | March 27, 2020 | Marlo Safi

If eyes are windows to the soul, what was left behind in the grocery stores after coronavirus panic buying are windows to what Americans won’t eat even in extreme circumstances.

People began sharing pictures on social media of what items were left behind after the shopping surge. The foods — such as cauliflower crust pizza or chocolate hummus — and the empty shelves once stocked with more appetizing foods are juxtaposed.

Carrot spirals were unpopular enough that Twitter users from different Trader Joe’s locations shared their pictures of the same stacked up boxes.

Chocolate and buffalo hummus were also left behind, confirming that the flavored hummus debate hasn’t been settled.

Vegan and plant-based can be seen in proportions that appear recently stocked.

Seafood in Arkansas. Sams/Walmart/Kroger (LAST WEEK) were out of all red meats, pork, bacon, chicken, et. al. However, FISH was everywhere. I went to Sams Club and bought a big bag of salmon filets, tilapia, catfish, cod, halibut, and shrimp. No shortage there!

Caveat: This week, all meat back in stock as per new stocking hours and new stocker hires.

I Don't Know About The Rest of the World...

But, in New England, this is the ONLY thing left behind in the soup aisle.

Go to a Half-Price Books or other placed that sells used music CDs. The stuff you _can’t_ find? (Beatles, Pink Floyd, King Crimson) Yeah, that’s the good stuff. Most everything else? Crap.

Same thing with the grocery stores during a panic. What’s left is something you probably don’t want. All the really good stuff is gone.

Vendor to Homer Simpson: “Mountain Dew or crab juice?”

Homer Simpson: “Yuck, ick! I’ll take a crab juice.”

This country could feed the world. We won't run out of food.

I ESPECIALLY like seafood, especially shellfish.
I had a crab cake and stuffed clam for lunch and cooked whole shrimp for dinner. YUM!

The threaded cap is really short. Hard to open. Also relatively expensive.

Nothing wrong with it. It's just plain ole water packaged so you'll pay more.

We ventured out yesterday to the Lidl. There was plenty of stuff to eat. Fresh chicken was mostly absent, and we couldn’t find any fresh eggs; but the store was full of everything else - cheese, lunchmeats, milk, beef, pork, lots of frozen stuff -

Paper Towels, but no TP :-)

Hmmm...I see there is no fresh whole bat on the shelves. I guess they can’t keep that in stock! ;-)
