This is an ambubag not a ventilator. It requires someone to continuously pump it. A ventilator is an electronic system that automatically pumps air into the lungs and extracts the exhalation. Don’t compare apples to Cadillacs and quote the price of the apple.

It's often called a a bag mask ventilator...because that is what we are doing when bagging a pt. Ventilating them...

Mechanical Ventilation...does not extract the lung volumes after inhalation...it's pretty passive.
