Why this guy has changed my opinion.

This is a little dated (6 days ago), but it explains this virus like no one has ever offered that I have heard before.

I think it becomes imperative that FDA, CDC, and the rest start now providing those infected, with hydroxychloroquine in combination with antibiotics.

To hell with studies. Use this now and sort out the studies later. If I had this I would sign whatever waiver they put under my nose.

Looks like April 12th is not going to happen, and President Trump said as much.

I think it behooves everyone to watch this.

Perhaps the Doc now needs to cover using the “Trump pills”.

Ignorance puts everyone at risk. Not only him and his family, but everyone with whom they come in contact...

You may not think that if the healthcare structure starts to become swamped and people start dying of other things too. Remember we have a finite number of medical personnel and supporting staff. They are human and face the possibility of burning out in a relatively short span, as is the case in Italy already.

This really could be something that changes life as we know it. Time is of the essence. I also thought like you. I was wrong, pure and simple. We are facing a real threat here and we need to retard the spread or things will quickly get out of hand that will result in other things failing making it even worse.

Yep, where I live, there is a neighborhood email chain...People writing in seem to be far more concerned about cardboard recycling limits due to virus staffing changes than they are about the impact of the virus!

This really could be something that changes life as we know it.

That is an understatement but not for the reason that you believe. Socialism kills far worse than any other illness of man.

Here comes the flood of personal bankruptcies for hospitalizations. Looks like the medical racket will be in the real estate business real good now, and a few million old folks will soon be homeless.

It has to be readily available:

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), sold under the brand name Plaquenil among others, is a medication used to prevent and treat malaria in areas where malaria remains sensitive to chloroquine. Other uses include treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and porphyria cutanea tarda. It is taken by mouth. It is also being studied as an experimental treatment for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Common side effects include vomiting, headache, changes in vision, and muscle weakness. Severe side effects may include allergic reactions. Although all risk cannot be excluded, it remains a treatment for rheumatic disease during pregnancy. Hydroxychloroquine is in the antimalarial and 4-aminoquinoline families of medication.

Hydroxychloroquine was approved for medical use in the United States in 1955. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the safest and most effective medicines needed in a health system. The wholesale cost in the developing world was about $4.65 per month as of 2015, when used for rheumatoid arthritis or lupus. In the United States the wholesale cost of a month of treatment is about $25 as of 2020. In the United Kingdom this dose costs the National Health Service about £5.15. In 2017, it was the 128th-most-prescribed medication in the United States, with more than five million prescriptions.

I agree that we need to be proactive about not swamping our healthcare system.

I also know that poor countries have very poor health care.

We need to be able to work to create wealth to keep this country running.
