This is a little dated (6 days ago), but it explains this virus like no one has ever offered that I have heard before.
I think it becomes imperative that FDA, CDC, and the rest start now providing those infected, with hydroxychloroquine in combination with antibiotics.
To hell with studies. Use this now and sort out the studies later. If I had this I would sign whatever waiver they put under my nose.
Looks like April 12th is not going to happen, and President Trump said as much.
I think it behooves everyone to watch this.

Yes...I am FULLY aware of the drug. I know someone who has to take it as a maintenance drug, for lupus.
I’m telling you that from what I’ve read....there are shortages, here in the US.
Docs are presribing for themselves/staff/family (which, I don’t blame them) and hospitals are dispensing for worst cases.
The Doc in upstate NY went through about 7,000 just for his 300+ patients.
Multiply that by docs all across the country. (Just say you had 300 docs, in 50 states prescribing for 300 patients. How many pills is that, at 7K pills/doc? And, that is lowballing.)
The good news is that other countries are donating millions of doses.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today accepted 30 million doses of hydroxychloroquine sulfate donated by Sandoz, the Novartis generics and biosimilars division, and one million doses of chloroquine phosphate donated by Bayer Pharmaceuticals, for possible use in treating patients hospitalized with COVID-19 or for use in clinical trials. These and other companies may donate additional doses, and companies have ramped up production to provide additional supplies of the medication to the commercial market.

It should be no issue in the ability of ramping up production, even if it requires government getting involved. As it said about 8 million prescriptions is a yearly total. Right now we need just a few hundred thousand more prescriptions, so doubling our output should not be that hard of a task. As for ingredients, I have no clue if that would be a showstopper or not. So perhaps it may be an order too big to fulfill.

Companies who have ramped up production don’t appear to have listed production sites but if you search the topic you find a number of them and some were mentioned in Trump’s presser today.
Intelligent people understand that the fear and hype, perpetrated by our Main Stream Media and its sycophants, have screamed of at the tops of their lungs, is not and will be not be worth the destruction of Western Civilization and its capitulation to Global Socialism. We are progressively abrogating cherished rights, freedoms, commerce and sovereignty in the face of this illness. We have been able to survive numerous other illnesses as a people without the destruction of our economy and way of life. Our Greatest Generation mobilized with many hardships to defeat our enemies in one great war as there fathers and grandfathers did in the previous war.
I have not been out of my house since March tenth and my wife has not been out of the house in months. I didn't hoard TP or anything else, as I regularly keep stocks of consumables habitually with bargain and bulk discount shopping.
All I have ever insisted on is the voice of reason with a positive outlook instead of the doom and gloom mindset that this virus is the next black plague.

My position has been that this virus is very real and a serious threat that isn’t f just the flu. But we should be skeptical of any “cure” that involves embracing socialism and kissing our liberties away.
I thought Medcram's video "How Coronavirus kills" was better. More concise and technically better and it still got criticized for being long winded and talking down. The doctors making these presentations for the general public, don't know what level people are at.
This doc in particular was trying to reach people who weren't taking it serious and would likely put others at risk unless they change.
