Growing your own garden is considered "non-essential" in Vermont.
They apparently do not want people to grow their own food.

We order most or all of our seeds by mail order.
A lot of what's in stores is hybrid crap.
Seed packets would be a very bad thing to sell in stores right now, as a lot of folks read many of the packets, putting many back for others to now pick up, spreading whatever germs, virus, etc., they may have.

I like these historical threads. Where is that photo from? Ukraine in the 1930s?

Live free or .... shelter in place and wait for instructions.
Hmm. Doesn't have the same ring to it as the old motto did. Oh well.

The manager must be a New York City transplant like Bernie. They don’t know where food comes from.

I'm glad Ohio isn't that crazy. If the store is open you can buy anything, so I can go to Meijer, WalMart, Target, Sam's Club, Costco, Kroger or a lot of other stores and shop just like nothing was happening. Some specialized stores complained saying if they couldn't sell clothes, tools, games, etc. then those same items shouldn't be sold at "grocery" stores. Fortunately saner heads have prevailed so far.

Bloomie just thinks seeds are for dummies.
I doubt he thinks they are non-essential.

My life as a compulsive seed-saver is now vindicated!
Some seed companies have closed down operations entirely during this, but most of them are still running. Shipments might be delayed, but they’ll still get to you. Baker Creek is one that’s still open.
