She wants to spread it, clearly.

‘We’ are sweet talking China right now because ‘we’ need antibiotics and other medical supplies.

right now, China is the only game in town.

Perhaps you’d rather children die of strep throat again?

That’s got to be a humbling sight. My son was in a CV patient area today. He saw someone being brought in a “bubble”. Freaked him about a little. At least he was able to wear a Tyvek suit and full face respirator. Last week, the hospital wasn’t letting them even wear masks until he got to his work site.

So, we as a family were supposed to do spring break at the lake next week. We can’t go, but we kept the rental for him. He deserves a nice break. He plans to fish all week :-)

Please stay safe!

Sometimes I know I can get carried away. Most of the time, I don't feel bad about it, but every now and then, I do.

I did not make it out of the house today. To be honest, everyday in recent memory has been a battle in my mind with my own fear, and most of the time, it wins. I still need to go to the store and soon.

If I muster the courage to take my babies for a hike, I will post pictures from where I go in this thread, as it is one of my favorite places on earth to hear nothing but the wind blowing through the trees.

The above picture was taken last year, the last hike I went on. I need this in my life, and so do they^^

You should go. It’s too cold in Alabama to swim, and the chances of anyone being upstream are slim. Beautiful pups!

The only ones saying it ain’t so bad are the flubros who are living in denial and freaking out over the loss of their finances.

You, being a FReeper, have had access to the same information that the rest of us had.

If you didn’t see problems coming from watching China’s REACTION to this virus, in spite of what they said, then that’s all on you. Don’t hold us accountable for your lack of foresight.

And you clearly don’t have a clue what you are talking about.

Prepping does NOT preclude working for a living. It does, however, include wisdom in making financial decisions that include not living paycheck to paycheck, or being in a financial bubble that could burst at the slightest disruption.

Too many Americans are in way too much debt from having to have the latest thing, gadget, vacation, car, house, you name it, and being encouraged to spread themselves way too thin financially.

Don’t buy a new car every couple years, buy a house within your means, plan on having enough food in your home to last more than a week, don’t be a slave to fashion....

There are a million ways people could plan if they weren’t living for the moment.

BUT if they think I am going to dawn a mask to go to the grocery store they have another thing coming!!

Dawn? As in the first morning light?

I think you meant don...

\ ˈdän \
donned; donning
Definition of don (Entry 1 of 4)
transitive verb
1 : to put on (an article of clothing)
donned his hat and gloves

Honestly, kit...the only one who's sounding hysterical, is you.

I'm trying to figure out your attraction to this thread. Especially since you question, or try to belittle and deminish so much that is posted, here.

Wouldn't your time be better spent on the main forum, where your intellect and viewpoint could be much better appreciated?

I’m sorry you took my post the wrong way. This can be as bad as texting...ha.

My dad spent 3 years overseas during WWII to help defeat Hitler. I know what that generation did for us all.

Many in my own family, siblings, relatives, and friends, (along with myself) are seniors, so yes, I am very much concerned with the effects of this illness on the older population.

I wasn’t calling any one here hysterical. Most of the nation has been in a panic for several weeks now. That’s whom I was referring to...and hoping if the CDC and major nightly news broadcasts would daily include the age/underlying cause deaths, it might help to bring a little more calm to the country.

Ok, I forgive you. :)

Why aren’t you applying for one of all those jobs considered ‘essential’?

I started working at the local grocery store last week, in the department that picks & packs online orders. I don't need the money, it was the only way I could figure out to volunteer and help (I'm taking the money, but that's not the real reason).

What motivated me to do it was the fear and anxiety I saw in all the little old ladies and young families quietly padding around the store looking to pick up some essentials

Why are you complaining? If you’re ‘critical’ you’re working. If you’re laid off, you get unemployment now. If you’re on furlough, you’ll get paid by your employer if he wants to get free money to do it. If you have a small business, go to your bank and get a forgiveable loan so you can pay your employees. Did you not know about all these things?

“The eventual attempt to rebuild it will be interesting.”

Now is everybody’s chance to realign their career to the one they want, or get that home business they always wanted to start rolling.

Good for you.

I was in Meijer this week and I think half the shoppers were from Shipt and Instacart (they wear logo shirts).

So sweet!! Such good looking pups!!

They outweigh my little guy....by a LOT!! He only weighs about 9 lbs....soaking wet.

I did pick up his eye Rx, today. We drove up to the vet’s curbside, popped open the trunk, they tossed it in, closed it (trunk) and we drove off.

Wiped the drops bottle down, once we got home, and we were good to go.
