We live very close to the Louisiana state line. So close, that to get to a small Texas town south of us, the shortest way is to go through a part of Louisiana. On a trip to that small town south of us today, my wife encountered several Texas DPS officers on US 84 stopping out of state cars with Louisiana tags. It appears governor Abbot is enforcing the ban on non-essential people coming from Louisiana to Texas.
Good.
Backbone.
Good.
Does Abbott have anybody checking on the western side of Texas? We may need to go through TX in early May, from CA going to MS. I wonder if we should detour and go through OK and AR instead of TX/LA.
It would be fun to get one of those “shoot out the tires” jobs. Pro tip: steer into the skid.
Yes. If youre coming from California its exceedingly dangerous to cross the western border of Texas. Its full of fun but unusually violent people, rigid control freak law-enforcement, rattlesnakes, cactus, and the fuel costs three times the national average. The smoked brisket is full of carcinogens. Even the cheapest motor lodge hotel is from the 1950s cost about $400 a night. I would avoid Texas completely if I were you
There are a lot of oil field roads around Logansport. Just sayin’. I guess there is only one bridge though. A boat across Toledo Bend?
Don’t forget tornados and Blue Northers
The nearest justice of the peace is in Van Horn, Texas.
Even the Comanches wont go there anymore
I hear he still puts people on the chain gang.. I sure wouldnt want to go from a lifestyle in Thousand Oaks or Malibu, and wind up on the Texas chain gang. No siree.
I noticed you left out the feral hogs, skeeters the size of dive bombers, plague carrying armadillos, bed bugs that can drain a large man in one night, spiders that lay their eggs in travelers ears, gnats that swarm like piranhas and buzzards too impatient to wait for something to die.
Bump
lol. texicans think theyre better than everyone else without a scary virus killing people.
And they are really big cuz everything is bigger in Texas!
Fire Ants, don’t forget the Fire Ants.
Lol. Now youve made me hungry for bbq brisket...,
Omg, thats quite a list of risks. Almost seems like Texas wants people to leave it alone....
Wellll... you got warned, fair and square!
