Where in the world is Waldo? Oh, wait wrong meme. Carmen Sandiego? Warmer, but no. The answer is zinc sulfate 220-milligram tablets or capsules suitable for popping like candy for a few days. As we've seen, the mass media has been determinedly ignoring the third leg of Dr. Vladimir Zelenko's treatment trifecta. Still, the word has gotten out, and the stuff appears to be out of stock absolutely everywhere.
Forward magazine piece on Dr. Vladimir Zelenko.
So! What happens if you get sick enough from coronavirus to seek treatment? Even if your own primary-care doctor is friendly to the hydroychloroquine and azithromycin drug-treatment combination, the odds are against zinc sulfate making its appearance at the party when you need it the most. Moaning and thrashing with fever while struggling to breathe will be the worst possible time to find yourself up the proverbial creek without a paddle. A prudent fellow might opt to buy a paddle in advance.
But how? Where? The only supply in evidence appears to be "99-percent pure" zinc sulfate monohydrate, supplied cheaply indeed by at least one merchant on Amazon. The catch is that it's meant for treating pecan trees for moss and evidently for curing leather. You've got to wonder what's the other one percent in the mix. Few people have forgotten the two venturesome souls who gaily downed fish-tank cleaner with the notion that chemicals are chemicals. Like, dude! Hydroxychloroquine chloroquine phosphate close enough, right?
An obvious thought does occur. Why zinc sulfate specifically? Why not, say, zinc picolinate, zine citrate, zinc gluconate, zinc acetate, or even water-insoluble zinc oxide? The difference seems to be about relative bioavailability of elemental zinc in a non-toxic form suitable for human consumption.
I guess my question is what y'all are doing yourselves about stocking up on a small but sufficient supply of the third leg of the primary treatment triad in case you personally or one of your loved ones unexpectedly meets the Slough of Despond that is a serious coronavirus infection.
"Pssst!"
Herb's head jerked around. A small face peered at him from behind the doorjamb of the hospital room entrance. "Daisy! Good timing, honey." Herb listened carefully for footsteps. "Quick, come in!"
Daisy scampered into the room and looked worriedly at her mother, who seemed to be sleeping in her hospital bed. "How is Mommy, Daddy?" She gave a small bottle to Herb, who popped open the lid and pressed a pill from it into his wife's mouth. He lifted a glass of water to her lips, and she opened her eyes a bit. The pill and water went down quickly.
Smiling at his wife and then his daughter, Herb said, "Don't worry, darling. We'll make sure your mother is fine." Footsteps approached, and Herb hastily concealed the bottle in a coat pocket. A nurse entered with a glower of suspicion. Daisy looked out the window, and Herb radiated friendly innocence.
Good clarifications here in #39 and #40.
Three oz. of oysters are worth about eighty milligrams of zinc in a biologically available form.
Love me my smoked oysters...
Seen an efficacy comparison which places the green tea extract more close in ranking next to the quinine drugs.
fyi, any fully-reacted chelated zinc formulation is superior to any inorganic form such as zinc sulfate in terms of usability/absorpability by the body, and some of the BEST chelated forms are made by a company called Albion ... actually, the above is true of ANY mineral supplement ...
Also, one has to be very careful with zinc as too much zinc is toxic, though i suppose there’s not as much chance of that happening with inorganic zinc formulations ...
overall, one shouldn’t take more than 40mg of elemental zinc ...
and note that several minerals, including zinc, can interfere with the absorption of certain medications (like thyroid compounds), so shouldn’t be taken at the same time as said medications ...

Doctor told my husband when he felt ill and had a cough and sore throat last week to drink red wine or get blueberries. He also gave him a z-pack. Husband is well and enjoyed the treatment.
A lot of men’s vitamin supplements have zinc in one form or another.
Avoid the Oxide not well absorbed, highest on open market is 50 mg. Want the 200 mg need a script.
IT IS PRESCRIBED BY RHEUMATOLOGIST DAILY. STOP USING THE GENERIC NAME. IT CONFUSES PEOPLE. PLACQUNIL ‘NOT’ Hydroxychloroquine GENERIC!! Few people know the generic name. Even RHEUMATOLOGIST call it PLACQUINIL.

I just started taking zinc tablets yesterday. I did not know we had them until my wife clued me in. I tablet per day.
How many days should this be done?
Is it one “combo dose” a day”
I would assume the duration should only be about 5-6 days.
Thanks!
