Throughout history, when the the big plagues have come upon the people, there has usually been targeted quarantines. That is, those with the disease have been separated while the rest of of the people went on with their business.
For example, I am sure you have heard of leper colonies whereby the lepers were put in in remote locations, far away from the rest of the population, so they don't infect other people.
What we are doing now, with the mass quarantine for everybody healthy or sick, and ruining the economy and putting up to 50 million out of work is about the stupidest thing I ever heard of
