Only if you postulate that 220 people dying per day in New York city is a normal condition.
So I did some quick web searching, and, apparently, the normal number of deaths per day for NYC is around 150. For this year, the number of deaths per day attributable to the Chinese COVID is about 100/day. I haven't been able to find a sum total for all deaths/day in NYC for this same time period, but if we saw something around 50/day of non-COVID deaths, then we could say hmmm - grand total is about the same.

Same, you cannot post today’s data as final and make the argument that 90% is from one state. NY was the only large state that had reported when you posted. Today’s Monday April 13 total was +1,535 US deaths and 671 NY deaths which is 43% of the total for the day. So they actually did better than Sunday.
