I have been symptom free for about 18 months.
I still keep an inhaler but I have not used it at all since I started keto.
I have discontinued my other drugs that I took for asthma (with my doctors approval).
Other observations. I have a knee that would bother me. As long as I eat keto it feels fine. If I cheat for a week or so, it starts hurting. I understand may not be related but it seems to be.
8 years free from asthma after initiating low carb high fat diet. No drugs, inhaler or symptoms.
I’ve been on keto about 3 years. Lost a lot of weight, but not as much as I need to lose. Recently I have been struggling with staying on the diet, and I know I’ve been taking in too many calories, even if not carbs.
I have inhalers but I hardly ever use them. My asthma acts up if I don’t take antihistamines during allergy seasons, and when I get a respiratory virus. I have had some issues with asthma even since I’ve been doing keto.
I was really sick all of February and had to go on antibiotics and prednisone twice. Was this Covid-19? I don’t know. I had the worst dry cough I can ever remember having, and had a chest xray to make sure I didn’t have pneumonia. If I did have the virus, would I have had a more severe case if I had not been on the keto diet? That, too, I have no way of knowing. My daughter thinks so. She is also doing keto.
So, my asthma has not gone away, but it could have improved. Guess I really don’t know for sure.
I have been a dieter for most of my adult life (now in my late sixties), and keto is the only diet I have been able to stick to for any length of time. Just about all my numbers have improved except cholesterol, and I couldn’t care less about that. I think that’s bogus.

I can tell you I have a bad knee and the pain is clearly worse with sugar, it will be better after only about 2 days off sugar.
