These younger teachers have been brainwashed into the child-centered, whole language, self esteem nonsense.

Even in a private Christian school, the teachers are like this?

Hard to believe, but yes.

They sent the kids (3 of them) for one year. Very frustrating.....lots of time doing math games on tablets in the classroom, they didn’t have a clue how to teach reading, incredible amounts of wasted time. Lots of occult books in the library, classroom, etc. Very discouraging.

Their behaviour was going south, life was hectic, she felt like she hardly saw the kids, plus absolutely senseless projects.

Here’s an example of an assignment sent to the parents whose kids are home now.

Math lesson:

- instruct your child to clean 1/2 of their room
- when you have lunch, have your child eat 2/3 of their sandwich
- go for a walk, and have your child smile at 3/3 of the people they see

I kid you not.

The topper is that the parents are STILL having to pay the tuition while closed.

Not at my my private christian school. However I will say remote lead it takes a good piece of my day to supervise and help and it is difficult when working full time. My little one is just in first grade it would likely be that much harder if she were older

I think it depends upon the school and how much nonsense the administration of the school tolerates. My wife has taught STEM subjects at a Christian school for over 20 years. A teacher showing the love of Christ to a student can look different at different times.

Sometimes students have a lack of confidence in their ability to master a subject. The teacher encourages them and helps them develop those skills. That is "cheerleader" mode. This is why they became teachers...

Other students simply have a very poor work ethic and procrastinate. The teacher gently reminds these students that STEM subjects tend to build upon earlier material so students need to be able to see how a new topic builds upon the previous material to help them solve harder problems which takes time and attention. That is the "concerned teacher" mode. If that doesn't work, she notifies the administration and the parents of the problem.
