A lot of these parents are probably having to work from home.

So trying to mix work at home with home schooling isn’t going to work out very well.

Image a family of 3 or 4 living in a 1000 square foot apartment every everyone is online trying to work/school.

Not the ideal setup.

That’s getting lost in a lot of this discussion. It’s one thing to home school when you have a stay-at-home parent, but most families don’t. Some families can make home schooling work even when both parents have full-time jobs outside the home, but I don’t see how you could do so at the drop of a hat in the middle of the school year.

I have a law practice that consists of my wife and me, and we are working from home because my normal office is closed. We have a toddler who is normally in day care on weekdays, but we had to keep him home yesterday because he had a fever. Needless to say, productivity dropped like a rock. I can only imagine what it would be like if we had to handle his education as well.
