Biden names four co-chairs to running mate selection committee

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday announced four co-chairs of a running mate selection committee, naming former Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and longtime adviser Cynthia Hogan to lead the effort.

The co-chairs will be responsible for coordinating the vice presidential search across the Democratic Party, as well as with vetting teams led by former White House Counsel Bob Bauer, campaign general counsel Dana Remus and former Homeland Security Adviser Lisa Monaco.

“Selecting a vice presidential candidate is one of the most important decisions in a presidential campaign, and no one knows this more than Joe Biden,” Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement.

“These four co-chairs reflect the strength and diversity of our party, and will provide tremendous insight and expertise to what will be a rigorous selection and vetting process," she added. "We are grateful for their service to the campaign and for their leadership.”

The announcement of the committee co-chairs marks the formal start of Biden’s running mate selection process.

At this point, Joe’s “campaign” is little more than a figurehead for the party bosses who are running everything behind the scenes. They’ll let Joe know what he “decides” when it’s time.

As the president might say, Joe didn’t name anyone. Someone picked these chairs for him. Joe’s ok but, he isn’t doing anything, its all being done for him.

One of the most fundamental, core decisions that a President will make. And this dink delegates it to a committee.

Way to demonstrate your leadership chops dumbass.

Historically, having people help facilitate the process of selecting a VP is normal. President Trump had Attorney Arthur B. Culvahouse, Jr. leading the vetting process. Do you remember who put the list together of the sixteen potential VP selections? None other than Paul Manafort and campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

Additional information: On May 3rd Trump became the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party after his victory in Indiana and the withdrawal from the race, of the last two competitors, Ted Cruz and John Kasich. In Mid-May Lewandowski/Manafort presented Trump with a list of sixteen names, and, starting in June, the Trump campaign began vetting six of those individuals.

Why do they need to be vetted? It’s not like the media will disclose any misdeeds or bad tweets about them.
