Probably not made in China. Navajo and Zuni tribes are well populated with very good silversmiths and their jewelry is well regarded world wide.

Like anything though, it takes an experienced eye to gage quality. The cheap junk is probably from Mexico and machine made. Turquoise quality is all over the map and fine spiderwebing with a deep color that is not chemically are a plus. The best quality smithing will have hammer impressions from both being handmade and a greater silver content.
