Lori Loughlin confident college admissions case could be dropped

“Full House” actress Lori Loughlin is more confident than ever that she did “nothing illegal” in the college admissions scandal and that her case could be dropped, according to a report Wednesday.

As her trial date approaches, the 55-year-old celebrity is demanding that charges against her be dismissed because, her lawyers claim, the feds pressured the mastermind behind the scheme, Rick Singer, to lie to her during recorded conversations, according to Us Weekly.

“Lori’s lawyers feel they have a very strong chance of having the charges dismissed because prosecutors withheld key evidence that [ringleader] Rick Singer was pressured by the FBI to lie in the course of his conversations with Lori,” an unnamed insider told the outlet.

“It was entrapment, misleading a defendant so that Rick could get a favorable sentence for his role. Rick was the mastermind in all of this.”

I believe her, and I believe absolutely nothing the FBI does or says.

As funny as I think it is to see celebs get embarrassed on national television , throwing any of these people in jail was just stupid. If guilty they should just get a fine and their kids kicked out of school.

Loughlin’s hubby (also part of the indictment) is a Trump supporter. Good for him, if the charges are in fact dropped. Honest services fraud is just a make-work project for Federal prosecutors. Plenty of other crimes they could be working on.

The more I’ve heard about this one case, the more I believe her, and that she was set up. It probably didn’t help that her husband was/is a GOP donor. Maybe she is, too; I don’t know. If the FBI is involved, the victim is innocent — that’s my new default mode.

Although I have to admit, seeing Lori Loughlin in prison orange might be kind of hot.

I can’t believe we are even still talking about this. MURDERERS ARE LET OUT and this woman is being prosecuted for trying to get her kid into a good college. She should have just bought a wing at the college library... for all the money she is spending now she could have.

IMO, just another example of money talks and BS walks. I don know what the agent misconduct was, perhaps threatening to indict the half wit complicit daughter which would put it on a level with the Flynn fiasco. Unfortunately he ran out of money, obviously this group did not.

This happened in 2019. So Christopher Wray was in charge. If Lori Loughlin had only committed treason, she’d be just fine.

Still not sure why the universities aren’t also held accountable in these cases.

They are at least as equally complicit, if not more.

If you think it could be dropped, then you're not confident at all.

her case could be dropped

And she could show up at my doorstep in a full length coat with nothing underneath.

Lori and her daughter lied on the college app. There should be a min of civil recourse. Other applicants that were honest failed to get in.

“I believe her, and I believe absolutely nothing the FBI does or says.”

I don’t necessarily “believe” her, but the celebrities were given harsh punishments, disproportionate for the crime.

The crimes were university employees defrauding the university, taking contributions for themselves and the person engineering the fraud.

Celebrities aren’t innocent in it.

(from the article):" ..demanding that charges against her be dismissed because,
her lawyers claim, the feds pressured the mastermind behind the scheme, Rick Singer, to lie to her during recorded conversations,.."

She is alleging "entrapment".
It seems the feds have been dong that a lot, lately. Ya think ?
This allegation could only work "if" the conversation occurred after the feds had mastermind Singer under questioning and if coercion could be shown.
That's a lot of "If's" !

Was the infamous Andrew “I can get you to lie by threatening your family” Weismann involved with this case.

Weismann should at best in jail, but at least disbarred.

I guess lawyers don’t care a wit about the integrity of fellow lawyers. Shame on them.
