Not too wise to run internet with no AV. I’d turn it back on and upgrade to an SSD. As far as I know nothing speeds up a windows computer more than going from HDD to SSD. That way you’d have the speed AND the protection. js

WRONG!! Nothing speeds up a Windoze (zzzzzz...) PC like an SSD and switching to Linux. Been there, done that, happy as all heck with Ubuntu 20.04 on my 11 year old AMD FX-8350 which runs like a scalded cat on Linux.

Installed in minutes, can do everything I could do on Windows. No license fees, no paying that pandemic panderer Bill Gates for his faulty vaccines and ID chips either.

If you read all my posts in this thread you will understand why I do NOT NEED virus protection, ever. Have been doing business transactions on-line since Windows 95 came on the scene, and no virus has found me since. My methods allow me to run a computer so much faster with ZERO virus protection, and surf the net to my heart’s content.

My business computer has SSD and is slower because of virus protection programs, but I use it like average 10 minutes in a day to execute a stock transaction or make bank transfers etc, so speed is of no consequence.
