China asked the WHO to cover up the coronavirus outbreak: German intelligence service

Chinese leader Xi Jinping asked World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to suppress news about the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the German intelligence agency BND found, according to a report by German magazine Der Spiegel.

During a conversation on Jan. 21, Xi reportedly asked Tedros not to announce that the virus could be transmitted between humans and to delay any declaration of a coronavirus pandemic.

It took until the end of January before the WHO declared the coronavirus outbreak needed to receive international attention. Because of China’s delay, the world wasted four to six weeks it could have used better to counter the virus from spreading, the BND concluded.

These Chinese megalomaniacs have wreaked incalculable devastation on the planet. I would think that there will be some serious settling of scores soon, or immediately after Trump’s reelection at the latest.

I wonder if Fauci’s hand is in this and if it can be documented?

The WHO is an expensive, worthless Chinese puppet. The entire world should cut off funding to it.

If the ChiComs want the WHO to continue, fine. Let them fund it. But rename it the CCHO* - the ChiCom Health Organization.

* Pronounced Choo Choo, like a train.

I’ll bet you Gates is involved. My big concern is Gates paying to have some technician walk out of the Wuhan lab infected with COVID 20.

The check must’ve cleared because Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was all over it.

The bottom line has to be the removal of the Communist Chinese government. Period.

Anything less will guarantee more pandemics, more economic destruction, and eventually an unavoidable war (unless we just capitulate to Chinese rule). There is nothing to be gained by avoiding the “unpleasantness” likely to result from demanding removal of the ChiCom government. Will it cause war?...Maybe, but doing nothing guarantees it, just at a slightly later time.

These dates are wrong. China confirmed that the virus could be transmitted from person to person on January 20th. Japan and Hong Kong had patients with the virus a week before that.

The article states “ It took until the end of January before the WHO declared the coronavirus outbreak needed to receive international attention. “

Which appears correct. Per the date you mentioned of Jan 20th, here’s an article referring to China’s position on that day:

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/21/china-coronavirus-human-to-human-transmission-confirmed.html

The Chinese official investigating a pneumonia outbreak stemming from a new coronavirus said the disease can spread from person to person but can be halted with increased vigilance, as authorities on Tuesday confirmed a fourth death.

Zhong Nanshan said there was no danger of a repeat of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) epidemic that killed nearly 800 people globally during a 2002-2003 outbreak, which started in China, as long as precautions were taken.

9 May: Daily Caller: China Asked The WHO To Help Cover Up Coronavirus, German Intelligence Concludes
byy Anders Hagstrom
Xi met with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on January 21 to request that he withhold information about human-to-human transition and delay the declaration of a global pandemic, according to German magazine Der Spiegel. (LINK GERMAN)
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller.

different meeting, but worth noting:

27 Feb: CFR: The WHO and China: Dereliction of Duty
Blog Post by Michael Collins
On January 28, Tedros met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. Following the meeting, Tedros commended China for “setting a new standard for outbreak control” and praised the country’s top leadership for its “openness to sharing information” with the WHO and other countries. Yet in Wuhan, the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak, Chinese officials were busy arresting and punishing citizens for “spreading rumors” about the disease, while online censors controlled the flow of information. Despite growing evidence of China’s mishandling of the outbreak and rising domestic Chinese outrage over the government’s censorship, Tedros remains unmoved. On February 20 at the Munich Security Conference, Tedros doubled down on his praise for China stating that “China has bought the world time.”...

In contrast to his effusive praise for China, Tedros has been quick to criticize other countries for their responses to the outbreak. He called upon nations not to limit travel with China and warned against the “recrimination or politicization” of the outbreak. Domestic Chinese news coverage prominently features (LINK) Tedros’ praise of Xi Jinping and criticism of foreign governments...

On January 23, the WHO’s emergency committee was split on whether to declare a PHEIC. With final authority resting with the DG, Tedros decided to wait despite admitting that “this is an emergency in China.” A week later, he declared a PHEIC. By that point, confirmed cases of COVID-19 had increased tenfold with 7,781 cases across 18 countries. John Mackenzie, a member of the WHO executive committee, publicly stated that international action would have been different if not for China’s “reprehensible” obfuscation of outbreak’s extent...

In a response to the German media reports, Chinese diplomats said the opposite was true, arguing that the communist country’s handling of the virus had saved time which had been wasted by governments in other countries.

If China says it, it must be true.
Does Schiff and Nadler concur?
