'Trying to take advantage of a crisis': Republicans blast Pelosi coronavirus relief package laden with 'wish list' projects

Republicans are criticizing House Democrats for their newly unveiled coronavirus relief bill, which is packed with funding for projects such as $50 million in “environmental justice grants.”

The $3 trillion package revealed Tuesday immediately drew the ire of Republicans, including a tweet from the official Twitter account of the Senate GOP, which accused Democrats of “trying to take advantage of a crisis.”

“1,815 pages, 347,144 words, 44,803 paragraphs. It took us over 6 MINUTES just to scroll to the end. Even the media calls it a 'wish list' that will 'never become law.' THIS is what trying to take advantage of a crisis looks like,” the tweet read.

The proposed bill includes $50 million in funding for “environmental justice grants” to go along with $10 million to the National Endowment for the Humanities. The bill also calls for the immediate review of all illegal immigrants currently detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to determine whether they should be released.

I know at least two people in my family that will stop filing income tax returns.

Darken my doorstep and end up tractor food. Done with this bullshit.

Lawyers for the lobbyists wrote these 1,815 pages full of legalese and bureaucratese, and no single Congress person will read as much as a sentence of it. The Democrats will approve it on Nancy’s orders, and hopefully it will be DOA in the Senate, but don’t bet on that in the current insane environment.

But the GOP will let it pass, because, well, they love the idea of Central American yardworkers cutting their grass for half of what the neighborhood kid would charge.

The government is run by lawyers and lobbyists.

I would tar and feather them all and hang all traitors.

This country is itching to something that will be regretted.

Think you meant, "inching."

I won't regret it at all. I've waited since Vietnam for these scumbag, treasonous POSs to get what they deserve.

The bill addressed voting by mail, a process Democrats have been pushing despite voter fraud concerns.

It also had a provision “prohibiting identification requirement as condition of obtaining a ballot.”

Do these relatives own their own business, or have employers willing to not take out taxes? Cause otherwise, for alot of people, not filing simply means the FedGov keeps the money you would have gotten from your return...
