You can find this fun quotation puzzle, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. I challenge us with the best ones out there.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

I’m trying to figure out how I can post yesterday’s solution, but have it hidden until I hover my cursor over it. Does anyone know how to do this in html?

Very common letter and many short words make this one really easy.

Feeling lazy this morning decided to use Hal's. Shocking how the whole thing fell into place with little effort on my part.
I think I'll go back to the look-solve method.

Hmmm. I have to see what I am NOT doing that is making me smarter.

I DEFINITELY know it is not the G Constanza problem of lack of nookie turned him into an almost genius, while Elaine turned into a doofus because of the same malady..

One of the authors quotes I can 'live' with....

Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education.

Two minutes. Guessed the first word due to letter frequency, then it was all downhill from there. Truer words were never spoken, in addition.

Two words, and the author is wrong, except for Democrats.

Just checking in. Nothing remarkable about today’s puzzle. Letter frequency will not mislead you, and the first word is what you think it is.

Thank you, once again, 1121, for this pleasant diversion. Do you mind if I call you “1121”?

Don’t you get a little tooltip explaining the trick when you hover the mouse over the “Move mouse here” text?

I predict that this will not be one of the more popular quotes here, but I personally agree with it. =)
