Found him on the highway in the 90’s during long bouts of windshield time.

He was amazing and his commercial/song spoofs were hilarious.

I hope to one day hear him say “...from my formerly cancer riddled body...”.

I hope he stays with us much longer. We just lost Ravi Zacharias and I would hate to lose another of the two most influential men in my life.

Hang in there Mr. Limbaugh. Sometimes we get our a$$es kicked. The important thing is to get back up and dust yourself off and make yourself ready for the next round. Prayers for your victory.

Found Rush during Desert Sword while I was laid off. He gave me hope and ambition to get out of my present situation. Couldn’t believe someone on the radio said what I agreed with. The one thing I remember from that first time was a Jesse Jackson skit.

I started with Rush during the Monica Lewinsky saga. He has never disappointed. I remember, before we knew about Jesse Jackson’s love child, Rush said ‘don’t miss tomorrow’ and ended his Show playing ‘Having My Baby’, by Paul Anka. He always makes me laugh. Prayers up.

WXYT in Detroit was one of his original syndicated stations. I began listening to Rush on his first day of syndication. He’s still my favorite.

I was at work one day and one of our sales guys from out of town came into my office. He heard Rush and told me that his best friend was Rush’s producer.

Prove it. Get me an autographed phot with my name on it.

It arrived a few days later.

I found him in ‘91. Same type of job. I was a travelling salesman for 20 years. I know every AM station that carried his show from Pensacola to San Antonio.

His earthly life is in God’s hands. His legacy will remain with us. My prayers are for his comfort while he deals with the disease.

A Rush child would be half a Rush, but since he has no kids, David can at least give up a quarter Rush!

He came on here in the Lehigh Valley at around 1988 also. WAEB was the only radio channel that aired his program then.

Went to a few restaurants hosted by Bobby Gunther Walsh for the Rush Room.

Those were some real good times.

Cancer treatment will test the strongest and absolutely crush the week.

One of the unpleasant little fantasies was probably busted, was his ability to return to opiods and indulge his old indication for pain relief.

Well, it ain’t going to work in terms of pain relief, so he’ll have to figure out if he wants to live his last few weeks in a haze or not.
Avoiding pain is just not possible.

Cancer sucks in the best of circumstances...throw some complications and it’s hell on earth

I started listening to Rush in March 1990 after I saw him on C-SPAN’s Talk Radio Week. I was instantly taken by his style: making fun of liberals and having a ball.

Hadn’t known that combo since William F. Buckley was skewering the Left in National Review.

Got into Rush’s world; there were not one but four Snerdley’s: Bo Snerdley, Mervin Snerdley, Mario Snerdley, and Chin-yang Snerdley.

Then there were the Updates: animal rights, feminists, Gorbachev, gays, and the homeless (immortalizing Clarence Frogman Henry). Rush also did a Desert Storm Update that same year.

I still have a cassette of his recalling his Sacramento days when he convinced his audience that there was a satanic message in Slim Whitman’s yodeling Una Paloma Blanca when played backwards.

Then Rush’s TV show, with Katie Couric going nuts when a New York chef cut up a live lobster. He aired a vid of Hillary Clinton jitterbugging with the Congressional Women’s Caucus; she was wearing a dress & the effect was so hilarious (`body by Mack Truck and legs by Steinway’) that she switched to pantsuits soon afterward.

Is it really thirty years already? Yesterday’s broadcast was unsettling even when Rush recovered his old voice. I pray every day that he will go on being a blessing to this nation.

I happened upon Rush at almost the same time as I began my career in law, with the firm I am still working with today, in the Summer/Fall of 1988. In those days there were many who claimed that Rush was not really conservative, that it was all an act. I almost expected someone to blow his nonexistent cover. But soon I looked forward to listening to him for part of his three hour show. He has exposed the left for what it is, and made us laugh while doing it. He pointed out things that the press has refused to do. He has been a conservative blessing.

Prayers for Rush’s recover or if that is not God’s plan, that God’s comforting hand be upon him as he moves through this...

I first heard Rush not on the radio, but of all places, on the Phil Donahue show in 1992. A friend of mine had told me a few times there was a guy on the radio named Rush Limbaugh, and that I would like what he had to say. I said, “yeah, yeah, I’ll have to check him out sometime”, but didn’t get around to it. One day, I was at the gym, and they had a TV on the wall tuned to Donahue’s show. He announced that his guest that day was Rush Limbaugh, which caught my attention. They started discussing women in the military, with Rush outlining his proposal for “The All - American Amazon Army.” I’ve been a fan ever since that day.

I found him not long after you, in May of ‘89. I loved him from the beginning, and even had a chance to go to a Rush to Excellence tour show in Bakersfield, California. During Dan’s Bake Sale my wife and I were living in Cheyenne, Wyoming, so we got to go to that, too.

I miss the days of Rush’s ‘updates’! He was so politically incorrect, and boy was that refreshing. The parody songs have also been a hoot over the years.

Want to add my prayers for Rush as well. I know that cancer is a big deal, but there’s always that outside chance, especially given the amount of prayer he must be receiving. I’ve been a listener since about the very first, but not sure when that was. If I recall correctly, after I started listening, he came on TV about that time. Late 80s maybe...???
