All the Jesuits I know would be surprised to learn this. Funny how St Ignatius Loyola, their founder in 1534, never mentioned it.
Assuming you're being honest, I gather the cool kids simply didn't share what they know with you. I wouldn't take it too hard, though, as they probably left you behind so you could do good works, which is of course noble.
